Lesser known than California’s vineyards, are its beautiful apple orchards. In Northern California’s El Dorado county is Apple Hill—a collection of 50 odd apple and fruit farms, tree farms, and wineries, laid in the Sierra foothills.

In 1959, an earthquake which measured 7.5 on the Richter scale caused an 80-million ton landslide, which formed a dam on the Madison River, and thus this lake. In a single day, an entirely new terrain was created. It's a gorgeous, eerie entrance to spectacular Montana.
Since 1863, Virginia City has not transformed much. The historic buildings have been preserved or restored. It's an amazing stepping stone into Montana's past. We even panned for garnets at the edge of town just like in the old days.
