I'm not much of a reader but this place makes me want to be. The space is pretty hipster but with a vibrant touch. If books aren't really your thing you can find plenty of artwork from local artists including my favorite, Cricket Press. They also participate in a lot of local business activities to promote Lexington which is pretty cool.
The best time to eat here is about 2 am. It's definitely the classic college hangout. Nothing beats a greasy Ho burger as you start to lose your buzz just before dozing off at the table. There's usually a line forming around the time the bars start to close as the student body filters in. It's lost a little bit of its charm since being forced to move from their previous location in the heart of campus, but it's still very much the official UK hangout.
Definitely a must try if you're in Lex. One of the awesome things about this place is how much they've tried to preserve the history. The inside is completely redone but still in the style of the classic '50s drive in. There are a ton of photos through out the inside that show the building through the years. The drive in itself hasn't changed much but Lexington sure has. The food is amazing but extremely greasy which may be a plus for some people looking for an ol' fashioned burger.
So so so good. I recently moved away from Lex and I miss this place the most. I was never much of a coffee drinker until this place opened just down the street from me. Be sure to follow them on social media to keep up to date on their almost daily donut specials. They get pretty creative with their ingredients. Nothing beats bacon and Lucky Charms.
I came here for the last stop on the Cincinnati Underground Tour and it was quite the fitting end to such a great experience. The architecture of the ceiling in the main room make for some interesting acoustics. When someone breaks at pool it carries really well. The staff are really friendly and knowledgable without being intimidating.
I remember playing this level on an old Tony Hawk game and wishing it were real. Then I saw the Netflix documentary "88 Acres of Anarchy" and immediately started planning a roadtrip for their next Bowl Bash.
Love this place. It's got a great view of the city and some nice trails for some casual, scenic exercise. It's a great spot for a picnic, or to feed the ducks, or even a date if you're just looking to hang out and chat.
Probably my favorite part is whispering on one side of the dome and seeing if your friend can hear you on the other side. I went with my niece and probably had just as much fun as she did if not more.
Nothing beats enormous breadsticks and Pint Night. You're guaranteed to leave full and partied out... not to mention a free glass.
"Try the Poppers. They're not very good but you'll love them," a friend told me on the way to the bar for my first time. That pretty much sums this place up. Nothing is amazing but you can't help but love it. The decor is pleasantly cheesy and though it's island themed you're not quite sure which island nation they're striving for. It's an awesome Jimmy Buffet bar for people who don't like Jimmy Buffet. Super relaxed, party atmosphere.
