“1950's style drive-in”
The Parkette's sign towers above many other structures on East New Circle Road. Erected in the late 1950s, it stood for a quintessentially American dining spot: the drive-in, a place where you could eat in your car, your real "home away from home." You could be alone or with family or friends, yet enveloped, just far enough from other diners while remaining part of a collective. In 2008, the Kaplan brothers — two smart transplants who cared enough about their adopted city's unique character to rescue the closed Parkette — began restoring the place. The work has been successful, even getting it featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!
Went here for lunch as it was featured on the Food Network show Diners,Drive-ins, and Dives. Service was friendly and fast and food was delicious. Decor inside is classic 50s style. Try the Big Bopper burger with the Bourbon sauce, you won't regret it! A must stop place.
Definitely a must try if you're in Lex. One of the awesome things about this place is how much they've tried to preserve the history. The inside is completely redone but still in the style of the classic '50s drive in. There are a ton of photos through out the inside that show the building through the years. The drive in itself hasn't changed much but Lexington sure has. The food is amazing but extremely greasy which may be a plus for some people looking for an ol' fashioned burger.
Great atmosphere and great burgers! Try the Big Lex burger!
This place is the bomb. Good food, good prices, and AWESOME atmosphere.
