This is an experience you can't pass up. Nude in crystal clear hot springs high in the mountains, surrounded only by a thick conifer forest. It does get pretty busy and the parking lot is not nearly big enough. I would get there as early as possible. Don't worry if it's cold out, the top hot spring is very toasty. And if hippies are not your thing or if you're a prude, probably best to steer clear.
I would rank this one of the best trails in Oregon for viewing waterfalls. There are a few steep climbs but otherwise it's a very well maintained trail.
As far as capitol buildings go it's not that interesting. The best part of the tour is climbing the tower and seeing the gold leaf statue. The surrounding grounds are beautiful.
Not sure where the hiking trails are. We tried searching for it and couldn't find it.
Don't make the mistake we did by thinking you drive through this on the interstate. It is for pedestrians.
I would recommend researching this very thoroughly before seeing it because it is far from where it is supposed to be on the this site and google maps. It's very difficult to find and we gave up searching because we were pressed for time.
Sits right on the gorge which makes for a great view, but I wouldn't go out of your way for it. I do like the fact that it's dedicated to those who fought in WWI.
These rock formations are incredible. Completely different than what I've seen in Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. But the fact that Hat rock is surrounded by a fence and is mere feet away from the houses surrounding it really destroys the beauty of it. It's difficult to get a picture of it without getting all the other crap. I would rate it a 5 if it weren't for that.
This is not something worth seeing and is off the beaten path. It sits right next to a trailer park and is really nothing to look at. We also didn't feel to safe in this town for some reason.
You'll have to plan this route out carefully because you could easily pass it by on the interstate without realizing it. Pretty views of the evergreen forests. Don't expect to see more than that.
