Unfortunately we weren't here for a show but this place is effing amazing!! We will absolutely come back when there is a concert or performance. Red Rocks has a website to see when events are going on, which is mostly in the summer.
This really shouldn't be on Roadtrippers because it is private property in a private neighborhood and is not available for tours and viewing. The best you can do is see it from far far away from the highway that passes by. We attempted to see it and were frustrated we we realized you can't so don't put it on your itinerary. It also goes by the Sleeper House if you can't find it on Google.
I'll echo what has been said already. This is definitely off the beaten path, in fact the road leading up to the summit is just dirt and gravel. However if you're in this part of Kansas you're off the beaten path anyway. I would definitely recommend it because it's the coolest thing in that area. Very cool to see something so anachronistic, although sad to see how people leave their trash everywhere. There are picnic tables available with fire places.
I agree with the others that say don't go out of your way for this. But it's pretty cool nonetheless. It's at an odd, unmarked location so use the maps and pictures to find it. Stand in the center of the circle and make some noise!
Didn't find the caves or waterfalls, but the rock formation at the top is incredible and gives you a view of Arkansas that spans for 10's of miles. There's also a preserved historic YMCA "college" at the top.
Beautiful park and excellent hiking. The path we took was 2 hours hike to the summit and back. It was a steep enough incline that we had to get on all fours. Very cool and well worth it if you're looking for adventure.
Very interesting park. The drive up the mountain was beautiful. The day we went it was very windy and cold at the top of the mountain. But you get some excellent views.
If there's nothing else to do, this can be an interesting adventure into prehistory. That said, you're not going to see much besides the one structure. The rest is just giant dirt mounds covered with grass and weeds.
This is by far one of the best bucket list items you can accomplish in Florida! We were not dive certified so we just snorkeled the upper part of the cave system. This place will take your breath away. Metaphorically. And literally, because the water is very cold. But it is well worth it. If you are dive certified and cave diving certified this is a MUST DO! Do not pass up this opportunity!
If you are going to Fort lauderdale beach this is a must. Just one is enough though, don't go crazy.
