“Attractions in Golden , CO”
The Sculptured House, also known as the Sleeper House, is a distinctive elliptical curved house built on Genesee Mountain in 1963 by architect Charles Deaton. It is featured prominently in the 1973 Woody Allen sci-fi comedy Sleeper. Architect Charles Deaton has described his inspiration for the house: "On Genesee Mountain I found a high point of land where I could stand and feel the great reaches of the Earth. I wanted the shape of it to sing an unencumbered song.
This really shouldn't be on Roadtrippers because it is private property in a private neighborhood and is not available for tours and viewing. The best you can do is see it from far far away from the highway that passes by. We attempted to see it and were frustrated we we realized you can't so don't put it on your itinerary. It also goes by the Sleeper House if you can't find it on Google.
