This is a quick and easy place to dump, Free when you get gas and right across from Walmart that has water for 39 cents a gallon.

We stayed here for the night and it was very easy to find. We pulled in around 7:45pm. We went across the highway from the Rest Stop, so we were closer to the road (evidentially those spots are 3/5 miles down the road). There are obvious spots starting pretty close to the highway and more further back. The spots are well defined and most have rock fire rings. Easy to maneuver in and out, some spots make a full circle so getting a large vehicle in and out would be easy. We stayed in the 3rd spot in from the road, traffic was not too distracting and around 4:45am you could hear a train in the distance.

My 8 year old son and I are traveling this summer, coming from Sedona, AZ heading to Zion Nat’l Park. We were stoping to hike along the way, so we were unsure how far we would make it. We got to this spot, easily found the road and we pulled into the first spot on the right after you go up the hill. We did not pull in until 7:30pm, so we basically quickly l set up, ate and then went to sleep. I was expecting lots of road noise since we were in the spot closest to the road; however, at night the traffic is very very low so noise was not a problem at all. If you are a particularly light sleeper, just continue further in away from the road. There were lovely trees and flowers blooming when we were there. Highly recommend.

Our van had a thermostat issue, so we ended up staying in this parking lot for 2 days while waiting for a part. We parked over by the large grass area so our son and dog had a place to play.
Lots of people pull in every night to sleep and then leave during the day. Some people with expensive fancy RVs and some run down older stuff but everyone we met were SO so nice!! The security and police frequent through all night, so we actually felt very safe! It does has some run down vehicles that look like they have been parked here for a long time so it looks like it is scarier than it actually is. Every RV park was full in town when we got towed in, so this was our only choice but ended up being a great save!
We ended up purchasing items in the Walmart, they have a nice RV section! And we used the bathrooms during the day. AT&T fluctuated between 2 to full bars for 5G, strong enough service to cellular stream.

This is a beautiful space to camp! My son and I showed up to the park late due to rain, around 4:30. We went into the park and the Rangers suggested this camping spot - we hiked until 7pm and then made the quick drive over. 5 miles down the road (clearly makes with signs) and you simply pick a spot. There are fire rings and fairly level. Gorgeous views and the night sky is insane!!

We enjoyed a super fun afternoon at Thousand Steps beach! The cave is super fun to explore and if you keep climbing past the cave and around to the left (scrambling over rocks, wear shoes!) you will find Saltwater Pool. It is only accessible around lower tides, so check before you go. The beach is so nice and not crowded like Main Beach - so worth the stairs! The kids loved looking at all the sea life in the shallow tide pools. Highly recommend making this stop!

Skip it. There is really nothing to see here, reviews that call this an “almost ghost town” - ummm, no. Looks like quite a lot of people live here (I have no idea why), many “No Trespassing” signs, two businesses open. We drove around and did not even take one photo.

Such a gorgeous park! We were here in October and it was still like 80, lots of signs saying no hiking in the summer, so plan to visit Sept - April for pleasant temps. Most everything to see is a super short hike and you are allowed to hike all over the park. Dog friendly!

Quick stop, cute photo op! My 9 year old loved climbing in and out of the structures and big rocks.

Totally worth the stop! Parking really close to the entrance. Super fun and great photos!
