April 20th, 2020: Email from Visitor Center confirms that Visitor Center has re-opened following a temporary closure due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Overnight RV Parking is allowed, confirming multiple reports from May 2014 & earlier, & info provided Goldfield Historical Society, which operates this Rest Area. Former open gravel lot has now been paved, & is now the Goldfield Rest area, with visitor center, restrooms, & 1905 'Bottle House' with end walls made of glass bottles in concrete. 25 Auto parking spaces' 5 marked long-vehicle spaces. Entire parking lot has slight but manageable slope. Lighted, feels safe, believed to be quiet, especially later at night. Restrooms, described as very clean. T threaded water spigots away from building near parking lot; please inquire as to whether filling RV potable water tanks is allowed. Dinky Diner ~ 0.4 mi to the SE on US 95.
