Planning our summer RV road trip I needed a place to stay in the Pigeon Forge\Gatlinburg area. We had never stayed at a KOA before and typically hit the state parks with our RV but this KOA was centrally located so I decided to give it a try. My first impression is that it was packed! I mean it is summer and every place is full but from the gate you could actually see how full this place was. It was Packed and you felt it just rolling to our site. The sites are very close to one another and not very level. On the positive there are full hook ups with water, sewer and electric and showers nearby that were fairly clean. The main office has coin operated laundry and there is Wifi throughout the campground but with so many people on it the Wifi was practically useless. If you're a kid you will love it here and mine did. They have a nice pool for swimming, a pool for the little ones, a jacuzzi and a big bouncing trampoline like thing that the kids were playing on. In the end the KOA served its purpose as it was central to what we wanted to do in the area. We did some laundry, and we had a place to park our rig while the kids ran around for awhile but it just felt too crowded for my taste.

What a Blast! We hit this thing in the day and loved it so much we went back and did it again at night at the discounted same day rate. So much fun. Mom, Dad, the 15yo daughter and the 11yo son...we all loved it.

This little gem was one of the highlights of my summer RV trip this year. What made this cavern such a great stop for me was the shear size of the cavern and the story behind it. Amazing! My family and I loved it. Bring a light jacket, its 58 degrees down there year round. A MUST see if you're in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.

Check out the review from Nancy below. Its right on! On a recommendation from a friend we decided to check out Fort Yargo SP as a stop on our summer RV Trip and I'm really glad we did! One of the best parks I've ever stayed in. In the park you have everything you need and just a couple of miles away you can find anything you may have forgotten. The mountain bike trails are so much fun from beginner to advanced and plenty of Geocaching if your into adventure. There is mini golf and a really nice beach with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back.

On a recommendation from a friend we drove out of our way on our Summer Road Trip to see PCSP. Its pretty much in the middle of no where and if your traveling in a travel trailer as we were or a large RV think twice before committing to the parking lot at the visitors center. We had a tough time turning around and there is no signage indicating so. Anyway, the visitor center doubles as a museum of sorts for the canyon. The museum is located inside the visitors center in the back and could easily be missed. Be sure to check it out, tons of old photos and history on the canyon. My family of 4 hiked down the path to the canyon floor. The path is steep in places but most should be able to make it no problem. At the bottom, its quite hot. Be sure to bring water if you plan on hiking around the canyon floor for any period of time. The park is beautiful and quite a sight and a great place to have a picnic after a little leg stretching or dog walk. We enjoyed being there despite the drive out of our way and would recommend it to anyone in the area. If you are unfit to hike down to the base you can still see the canyon from the top at numerous places and the visitors center is handicap accessible.

IMO the May 12, 2015 review for 1 star is in accurate. The review WAS nearly 2 years ago. My family and I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights while traveling for the summer this year and it was great. The grounds were spotless, the grass and plants were very well maintained. There is some lack of shade near the front of the property but the back property sites have plenty. The staff was very helpful and attentive and there is WiFi, laundry, and a pool. We were here for July the 4th and they had a big BBQ for all. I would recommend this stop for anyone looking to check out the Tallahassee area for an extended period of time or just passing through. Ill be giving it 5 stars.

While on our summer road trip my family and I decided to tube the "Itchy". We took the tram instead of walking and were very pleased at how beautiful and clear the river was the entire trip. It was summer and there where plenty of people but not so many that it felt crowded. Just plan an early trip. After the tubing, we drove to the head of the spring (I believe its called the "Blue Hole") and explored that. To get to the head there is a short 5-7 min walk on a board walk to get to it. Be sure to bring goggles or a mask to clearly see the bottom. It was under construction for renovations but still open and a must see. If you are in the area, I highly recommend taking the time. Especially on a hot summer Florida day.

My family and I came to the area to see UofF and some springs. Our original plan was to visit a neighboring spring up the road but 1 was closed because it was full and the other was over-run by rowdy kids and young adults. The only other option was Poe Springs. This actually should have been our first option. There is a 5-7 minute walk from the parking lot to the spring but it is on a board walk and is quite a nice little walk. A beautiful spring with plenty of space to explore not over-run with people. You can enjoy the head of the spring or you can take a walk down the spring to where the spring runs into the river. Bring some goggles, water shoes, a cooler and some chairs and make a picnic out of it. A much better choice than either of the springs up the road if you plan on bringing your family.

We made this quick stop while visiting the area. The hike around the rim is maybe a mile and then we hiked down to the bottom. Pretty neat site to see but bring your mosquito repellent or you will be carried away. A worthy stop if you're in the area...mosquitos or not.

The original review is right on. This place is a quaint little campground perfect to stop for the night or two. We stopped in High Springs for 3 days and 2 nights to see the local springs, neighboring Gainesville and the college on our way north for our summer road trip. Our site was located near the office. The campground offers good WiFi, full hook-ups, laundry, bathrooms, and a pool. The property is clean, well maintained and has a friendly staff.
