This is a large park, well maintained. Park employees were helpful and courteous. We came in after dark and found our site w/o difficulty. For mid October we were surprised at the number of campers. Fall colors, temps in the 70's don't hurt. A weekend visit w/these conditions may require a reservation, even this late into the season. A note to RV's and 5th wheels. Your GPS may take you to the entrance off of 135. DO NOT GO THERE. Take the WEST entrance on 46. The entrance on 135 has a covered bridge. 9' clearance and weight restrictions.
They had quite a few activities for kids, families, hiking and horse trails. If you are out of state and pay the entrance fee, hold onto your receipt, you simply show it any other Indiana State Park and they don't charge you to get in since it was paid at another location.
If you've never been to this area, you will be amazed at the hills. You will quickly see why they call it; "The Little Smokies."
Nashville is the closest town approx 3 miles away. They have shops, hotels, restaurants, all sorts of surprises. We drove though unable to find a parking place since the town was jammed w/fall color visitors and we didn't have time to find a place to park a 30' RV. We were told any other time it's not a problem to park RV's, they were simply full...worth a trip back for sure.

The RV park is fine.. Pull throughs, close to everything. Great price, and yet, like so many of the parks on this trip. The long term campers simply take over. In some places this is no big deal. The owners of the park make them clean up their sites. You can't bring in the storage tubs, sheds, tarps, plastic flowers, pallet decks, bricks, all the owners have to say is; "Clean up your site, or leave.." There's no place else for them to go. THey'll clean it up. And then you can charge more and make more $$$. (We own an RV park, it's an issue) The dingo dog who was on a chain next door, thankfully was friendly. Chain was long enough for him to go underneath my rig. And to drop a steamer. Which I promptly stepped in. Nice way to start the day. I was careful to avoid stepping in anymore of his "gifts" after the first episode. The park has two areas. One is the front which most of the long term camps were in. Many of the RV's looked as if they would need to be towed upon leaving. Lot's of duct tape. The back end has more or less permanent park models. Lot's of decks, porches, and some really nice rigs. "A tale of two cities..." Anyhow.I didn't use the bathroom. Otoh, the owners are quite nice. Very friendly. It's really close to town. It could be a great park w/a little body and fender work. Alas, that doesn't seem to be in the plans...All of the long term campers kept to themselves. It was quiet at night. Most seem to be working. In summary. If you stay, try and get a site in the back, you'll see it on the map. The nightly rates are cheap enough to make up for any of the visual blight you may see. We basically came back late, got up early and it worked fine. Even if you camp next to dingo dog. He's an OK pooch. Just wants attention.

Spent 3 weeks in the front overflow area. Close to Hwy. Noisy, but it's a road, going to be some noise. A busy fire station is located down road a couple miles. Not unusual for 4-5 calls/day if not more. So, you will hear sirens blaring. Sites are even. Lot's of long term sites. Older trailers that have been expanded on over the years. Pretty clever designs for the most part. People are very friendly. Publix, McDonald's across street. Takes about 40 minute to get to downtown Tampa. Couple of beautiful country parks in area. Great place to hike. Quiet. Hard to believe you're surrounded by so much urban build...it fit our needs perfectly. Lot's of road construction on highway. Tricky getting in if you've never been there before.

We were en route to AZ. Stopped in for night. Sites are small but our 37' and tow fit. They do have picnic tables. Maybe they were working on them from a previous review. The interstate is visible from the campground. Not much highway noise. BUT. The open field that surrounds the park is going to be a subdivision. It;'s under construction NOW. THey've got a lot of earth moving equipment on site. They were digging culverts, drains, I'm assuming by this summer. It's going to be near completion and then the building begins. So, it's going to be a noisy site for the next year or so...nice place. Ice was on lake. It was clean.

Really nice park. Concrete sites. Toilet was clean. Showers very nice. Young man who runs it a pleasure to deal with. Nice grassy area in front for dogs to run. Wifi good. Dogs would give it a 10 star. Lots of interesting areas to sniff. They do have what is supposed to be some type of a pond in the back. No chance of getting toes wet. It's a giant hole. Great place.
