“One of the most beautiful show caves in the world!”
The Caverns of Sonora is recognized as the most beautiful cave in Texas and one of the most beautiful show caves in the world. The Caverns of Sonora is located on Interstate 10, about half-way between Big Bend National Park and San Antonio Texas. We are located 15 miles southwest of Sonora, Texas and the Caverns is a great place for people of all ages to experience the wonders of nature. Along with guided tours of this beautiful cave; there are many other activities to enjoy such as gemstone panning, exploring the nature trail, enjoying a Group Tour, Specialty Tour, or one of our many Workshops, camping out in an RV or tent, or just relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
This place is awesome!! D, our guide, was fun and knowledgeable. One of the BEST stops we made over the course of our trip. Friendly people, great gift shop, reasonable price and one of THE PRETTIEST caves I've seen
We arrived after the last tour left, make sure to get there before 3pm!
Its a good stop to break up the long drive to Grand Canyon. The caves are all pretty small. They dont give you hardhats and one guy knocked his head pretty good.
This place was great! Inexpensive. My 3 year old was able to walk through it. So much fun!
Even the gift is amazing. It really is all crystal. EVERYWHERE. They sell crystals of all sizes too. The tours is about an hour and 45 minutes. Make sure you get there before 4:30 to go on a tour.
We stopped here last month and so well worth the stop ,its absolutely phenomenal. Caverns of Sonora is truly a must on the list !
This is an awesome cave. Worth going to over some bigger ones, like Carlsbad.
Really wanted to make it here on our trip but for some reason the driving time was way off and ended up having to stop before we could reach this point. People in the area said it was really neat!
Tour of caverns was great. Beautiful formations. We’ll worth the stop. Stayed over in the RV park which was average. Gravel and fairly level. No dump station. Not at all crowded and peaceful quiet night.
Incredibly cool location. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and a great place to stay for the night. Peacocks wander the property. And then there is the cave! Awesome experience and much worth the time.
