We stayed at Inlet Grove campground for one night while making our way on a long trip to the east coast. The campground was full on the Friday night when we arrived, likely for the weekend. The roads and campsites in the loops were gravel. Common water spigots were located on the inside of the loop. North Sterling Reservoir, as with many Colorado lakes, had very low water levels. Each site has a covered shelter with table which would provide shade in warmer months.

The moon was in a waxing crescent phase on this day and the night sky at the park was very good.

Nice location for those traveling along I-80 through Nebraska. There is no office at the campground, but an onsite host visited our site after we arrived. The pre-arrival email communications from the campground was one of the best we have every experienced.

Site 04 was very spacious and easy to back into with our 33' Airstream travel trailer. All roads and level pads were concrete.

One of the cool features of the campground was a recycled bridge they had incorporated into the park and featured as the logo for the campground. The campground was within walking distance to the quant downtown of Ashland and a short distance to Omaha.

We were able to park our trailer along the access road to go into the Loves RV Storage office to pay and get the gate code. The attendant was very friendly and had us on our way quickly. Once through the gate we had enough room to get lined up at the dump station. The facility was very clean and drinking water was available.

We had a scheduled service appointment with the factory and on arrival found lots of available open sites. All sites are back-in in one of the three circular loops. Full hookups are available and laid out in a convenient way. The Terraport is adjacent to the factory service center.

WiFi was available in the Terraport as well as the customer lounge in the service center.

We were looking for a campsite for one night when tidal flooding on the Chesapeake caused a change of plans on our trip. The staff here were very accommodating and were able to fit us into a water and electric only site for one night.

The property this campground reside upon seem to be a large family parcel with horse boarding and riding facilities. It has many amenities catering to families, like miniature golf, playgrounds, fitness center and recreation room.

The office and checkin are at the front of the property. After entering through a gate with the code given to us at check in we drove through the expansive property toward the campground. On the way you pass through an RV storage lot with has to be nearly 500 boats, trailers and other RVs parked. You reach the campground after about a half mile from the entry gate. We were in what appeared to be the oldest section of the campground. The hookups were serviceable, but definitely showed their age. Roads and pads are gravel throughout, but well maintained.

There was laundry facilities, but they were constantly in use while we were there. This may have been due to one of two washing machines being out of order. Trash and recycling containers were located near the entry gate. A camp store/office is staffed until 7 pm each night.

This was a bucket list location for us and it delivered. Site 23 offered shelter from the coastal winds but easy access to the beach. This stretch of beach was gorgeous and with only campers using it so we had it to ourselves most of the time.

Many reviews and information from the NPS warned of mosquitos, but we did not notice mosiquitos. One of our neighbors started a fire at their campsite one morning. The smoke from the fire apparently will draw the wild horses in if they are being pestered by flies. This can be a nuisance if you are trying to cook a meal at your campsite.

Besides the wild horses, we enjoyed watching the other wildlife at the seashore. Pelicans and gulls were numerous. We caught a glimpse of a bald eagle soaring over the coast. During our stay the Monarch butterflies were on their fall migration and were plentiful among the flowers blooming on the dunes.

We really enjoyed the bike lanes throughout the park. Even the bridge to the island has a protected bike/pedestrian lane.

Most of the sites were quite open with little to no privacy, but with site 23 we felt like we had our own beach front hideaway.

We enjoyed the remote location of this campground in Queen Anne County Maryland. Our rate was based on the Maryland Golden Age Pass which is free to those over 65 years of age. The campground was well maintained. Restroom buildings were located in the center of the campground loop with access trails leading to them. The showers had ample hot water and were clean.

Lots of trails for hiking trails throughout the park. We also enjoyed riding bikes on the local roads to access other areas of the state park. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday in October and there was good availability of sites unoccupied. It was a great time of year to visit.

The camping area are grassy and surrounded by tree. The pads are asphalt and our site was unloved but provided good spacing between sites. The weather in early October was moderate with the feeling fall was in the air. Our site was electric only but a dump station was available on site.

Camping fees are $29 for week nights and $30 for weekends.

While the setting and layout of this state park are amazing the staff really put it over the top for us. We rolled into the campground and went straight to our site. Within minutes a ranger rolled by to welcome us and provide our car pass and information. We did not get the usual long list of rules recited to us, which was really refreshing. The campground is adjacent to Daughterty Creek (which flows the Chesapeake Bay) and separates the campground on the mainland with Jane's Island.

Pets are welcome in all loops in the park. A camp store, nature center and visitor lounge is near the marina area of the state park and very close to the campground loops. The town of Crisfield, MD is just minutes from the state park, with good selection of stores. Boat tours of Smith Island leave from the town's harbor.

A rails to trail path runs from Marion to Crisfield beside the Crisfield Highway and was convienant to the state park via county roads.

Our four day stay here was interrupted by an unprecedented nor'easter combined with king tides that caused tidal flooding throughout the Chesapeake Bay tidal basin. Our site (8) in Loop B was one of the highest in the campground, but many other campsites were completely under water during this event. The park manager, Christina, informed us she was closing the park as even higher tides were expected. When we left at low tide we drove through water completely covering the park road and the county road serving the park. The rangers had waded through the flood waters to flag to the road for those of us evacuating and to safely direct us out to higher ground.

The public roads into the campground were very narrow and winding, but we saw very little traffic. The GPS tried to steer us into a summer camp location 1/2 mile prior to arriving at the campground. The campground seems to be a location used mainly by folks from this area. Maintenance is handled by volunteers who stay on the grounds. Our site (25) did not have a marker, but it was obvious when reviewing the campground map. It had a great view of the lake.

Arriving on Monday in October there were very few campers at the park. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed our stay there. A dump station and water fill is available, but they are not well marked. Check with one of the regulars or a host for the location. The park roads, like the roads approaching the campground were narrow, but navigable.

The campground was very near to the Flight 93 Memorial, which was the reason we picked the location. A visit to the memorial is highly recommended.
