Guide was amazing, tour of just the eastern side was excellent. I was worried the full day tour would be too long, but the easter side does not include many of the most photographed sections of the Going to the Sun Road. Everything included was wonderful, but next time I would schedule the full day/full road tour.

Stayed in a Camper Cabin at this KOA. Selected it because the "Going to the Sun Road" Red Bus tours pick up here, but as it happens they also pick up at many of the nearby lodges and campgrounds. This KOA was clean, well appointed, and even had an electric car plug in station! Great laundry facility, native speaker program coordinated with Glacier, nice people, easy check-in, and kayaks for rent at the river. Would definitely stay again.
Next time we will plan well ahead so we can stay here at the resort and spend a few more days in the hotsprings. What a GREAT place. The hotsprings are well maintained - clean and relaxing. The food was good at the restaurants, and you can eat inside or out by the pools. The day passes for the hotsprings are limited, so book in advance. The lodging is the same, and we were not able to get a room when looking a month out. This is a beautiful spot and only a few hours from Glacier National park, making it a nice spot to stop on the way.
Sweet little stop if you want to see some mule deer herds and petrified rock. Nice museum/interpretive center (closed by 5).
The gondola ride was worth the money. Great way to see the falls on a hot day without effort. The park is relaxing and varied. Nice stop on our way through Spokane
Very cute, easy check in, terrific location. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. And good value for what you get. I would stay again and definitely recommend.
Loved this eclectic and fun art and sculpture exhibit. Reminds me of Watts Tower in Los Angeles, and other "found object" large-scale art pieces. It is so awesome to see that they work with senior artists and are constantly updating the work. Totally worth the exit from the freeway.
Ritzville is worth the detour from the Interstate, and the Railway Depot Museum is part of the charm. This little museum has a wealth of history about the town, from antique machinery and professional equipment to a lovely collection of Ritzville High School memorabilia to photographs of the impact of Mount St Helen's volcanic eruption. If you get a chance to meet with Linda (works there, showed us around) you will be lucky indeed. A Ritzville native who has pride and knowledge of the town she has lived in all her life. The old buildings and active grain depot make for a pleasant hour or two.
