River-view rooms, really easy to walk across the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge and to explore Downtown Des Moines. Rooms are comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was included and complete while not memorable. Good value for money spent.
Great way to see Downtown Sioux Falls, and enjoy the work of regional artists. Really enjoyed seeing the diversity of styles and materials. Excellent way to enjoy learning more about Sioux Falls. Be sure to stop at Fernson for local brews and food (at the end of the street).
Cannot say enough about how great this place is. Beautiful surroundings (the only lodging inside the Badlands national park) would already make it unique but the quality of the cabins was astounding. Beautiful, roomy log-cabins with porches on the front and back, gorgeous quilts on the beds, complete with air conditioning and a fridge. Water pressure was great. Staying here allowed us to explore the Badlands at dusk, which meant smaller crowds and more animals out exploring. Stay here if you can.
Clean and comfortable. Probably the nicest staff I have ever encountered. Full of great suggestions for the area. This is a great spot to use to explore Devils Tower, Deadwood, and more. Great value for the money.
SPEND MORE TIME HERE! We were so Wowed by this lovely park, and we wished we had more time to truly enjoy the many hikes and trails. The bison herd is incredible to experience, and the rangers/guides at the visitors center were incredible knowledgeable. We will be back!
Lovely Visitor's Center to begin our adventure down the Great River Road in Wisconsin. The park is very beautiful (small, but incredibly well maintained) and the visitors center can provide maps of both/all the "Great River" Scenic drives for both MN and WI, as well as the continuation into other states. Prescott is very sweet little town to explore as the first of many on this beautiful drive.
Sometimes, you just have to do the tourist thing. When that urge strikes, the World's Largest Buffalo is a reasonable way to check the box. It's big! It's true to life! It has all the tourist stuff around it! And if you go after hours, it is not crowded ;-)
We will be back, and make sure to spend more time exploring this amazing park. The herds of wild mustang were the high point for me. The hiking trails are so well maintained, and even in blistering heat there were options. The museum and visitors center (south) were excellent.
Really fun stop for a visit to the Fish Hatchery, a 30 minute walk along the Missouri River (paved/accessible), and a brief visit to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Good hour-long diversion during our roadtrip. Saw lots of families doing the same.
We did not stay here, but we attended the hour-long tour provided by the rangers from Glacier National Park. SO Interesting and complete! Would totally recommend the tour, and next time we come we will likely spend a night here at this historic lodge.
