Older campground, well taken care of. Nice showers, secured. A little hard to find entrance at night. Biggest problem----NOISE! Major intersection of 775 and 1075 must have a sign at it that says" PLEASE HAVE LOUD PIPES ON YOUR TRUCK AND GUN IT WHEN YOU LEAVE INTERSECTION!" All night........ Also, train horns and track rumble from nearby tracks.

Small park, some pull thrus. Loved the scenery. The only negative for us was the highway noise from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on a Monday morning in March. The campground sits in a bowl next to the lake and the highway is just above it. I would definitely go back, but only in an "off season", because I would imagine it is pretty busy with boaters in the summer.

Overnighter, seemed like an okay place. Tight in and out for our 36 ft fifth wheel, but doable, Somewhat noisy county road and trains in the distance.

This place had mixed reviews on other sites, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is a SEASONAL home park with 2 possible RV sites. That's it. Reviews on other sites complained about muddy. Well, what's going to happen when it rains.....and rains....and rains? We stayed there late September while it poured and had been raining for a week. We do not have 4WD. We did not have any problem. Actually, I enjoyed it, because the site we stayed in was by the "lodge" and the harbor. The lodge has a bar.....with beer ($4 bottle). And toaster oven pizza. That's it. But the owners, brothers Kurt and Niles, were enjoyable. I would go back again, if I knew I could get the "lakeside" site. Very quiet, but a few bright, glaring lights at night.

I really liked the layout of the park. Each site is set up on a terraced hill. Each has a grill, table, and little post light. The views are great!!

But.... the trains down in the valley run ALL night, several sets of tracks. And maybe the wind was just right the night we were there, but the train horns and the rumbling on the tracks, (for miles), came right up to our coach. No sleep that night.... :(

Well, I have to say it is a beautiful campground! Well manicured, Scenic, laid out nicely. Sites are a little tight, intermixed with big old oak trees! Several seasonal homes/trailers here, but beautifully maintain and landscaped! A beautiful walk along the river. Even a small “beach“ for swimming in the river. Ultimate camping experience! That is until 2 AM. Nearby Rockford airport has a very large UPS and Amazon hub there. The night we were there, UPS had 23 flight scheduled from 2 AM to 3:12 AM. And naturally we heard one take off every seven-ish minutes. The wind was from the west, so of course we heard them as if they were taking off in our bedroom! I checked with the cargo dispatchers and they say yes that is a regular schedule. Unfortunately, despite all the beauty and great camping that we enjoyed, we will not be going back.

A little out of the way place in the Gem Valley, very interesting and beautiful. Sitting amongst potato and hay fields, the roads to get there are gravel and not maintained in winter. My suggestion: Whether you come from the east or the west on Hwy. 30, take Hegstrom Rd. south, to Central Rd. east, then Anderson south to Gibson. East on Gibson Ln. will get you there. We have stayed here in our 36' fifth wheel more than once while passing through the area.10 pull thru sites, grass and trees between them. Lava chunks all around the ground. Flush toilets & showers. Full hook ups, though the water is shut off sometime in late Oct, early Nov, pending temperatures. Golf course looks interesting too, though I never played it.

This is the third time we have stayed here in 5 years. It was previously a KOA, now privately owned. Nice gravel sites, beautifully wooded and easy to get in and out, though the sites are close together. WIFI and amenities good. Nice park.

Our past two stays here were fine, with an occasional loud-piped pickup or semi rolling down hwy 287. This stay was in mid October, the final week they were open. The semi truck traffic was horrendous!! Logging trucks, grain trucks, construction trucks! They did slow down at night, but their engine rumbling still pierced the night--and we were upwind of the highway. Was it maybe just the time of year, with harvest? Don't know, but maybe we will try it again, just not in the fall.

12 miles from the interstate, and 5 miles from Kanosh, we found a VERY quiet overnight at Adelaide CG. Nestled far back in the Corn Creek Canyon, it was cozy and made me wish I was a local. We were there "pre-season" (April) so water was not on. However, vault toilets were open. No electric here, Very nice small campground with creepy trees. We got water in town at "Bob's" gas station. Super friendly. Reservations are taken on the Recreation.gov website.

I have not stayed here. I made a phone call to them when desperately trying to find a place to stay on a holiday weekend. They are a membership resort campground, but DO allow non-members to stay for $50.00 per night. Unfortunately for us, they were full for the nights we needed to stay. But the guy I spoke to was EXTREMELY helpful in recommending area campgrounds, including phone numbers!

I liked the location because it appears to be in a quiet location (NOT on a highway!) and the pictures look great!
