The campground is in a good location for both Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. It is pretty bare with no showers or restroom but we knew that going in. The staff, Liz, was very friendly and helpful. All that being said, I was hoping for a little more considering the price of $63 per night with a minimum three night stay. It was quiet and I would stay again. We did get stuck beside some big black drums they were not attractive. We we there the last week of October and it was only half full. Regardless, it is the best option.

Not our favorite spot but it fit the need. There was no staff there. We had made a reservation in advance but no one was ever there. Our reservation was in the Black Mailbox. It’s a mobile home park and RV park. Not real clean. Didn’t really feel safe but there we no issues.

I booked in advance and used Campendium reviews before I did so I knew what to expect. There was plenty of room and the place is well kept. The staff was super friendly. It is locked at 7pm with a passcode to get in. Very secure. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is due to the traffic noise. It sounded at times like a race track with cars racing up and down the street. With that being said, it is by far and away the best option. Try and get a site as deep into the park as possible.

We were a little skeptical while driving up to this place but it was wonderful. They have lakes and trails and it is so peaceful and quiet. The only downside, and we knew this going in, was that they only had 30amp service. We went in late October so it was not a real issue but it would be a problem for a big rig in the hottest times of the year. We only stayed a couple of days as they had a wedding coming in and that is a main source of revenue. We loved it and would absolutely stay again.

We only stayed here for a night as we were passing through. Easy to get to from I-35 and far enough away so there was no road noise. Close to town and Walmart was close.

The park was packed with many permanent residents. It was okay for an overnight stay but you may want to look further if you are staying for longer. Campsite we’re a little close together. This is going to become or has been a KOA, not sure but if becoming a KOA it needs improvement.

This was a great spot for traveling. It was far enough off the highway that the noise was a non issue. The staff was helpful and it was a quick check in. We would definitely stay again.
