Love this place. Clean, quiet, close to town, only about 30 minutes from Stone Mountain State Park, close to several wineries and nice restaurants. Campsite trail ties into city greenway with a playground for kids by the river.

Site 49, in line with other reviews of Loop 2 sites, was tight but we managed with a 17-footer. Next time, we’ll try to get 20, 7 or 84. The Sandhills trail around the lake was a great walk, plenty of scenic resting spots with benches, geese on the lake, families fishing. Very nice. Just wish people would clean up after their dogs. Main grassy area between boat house and lake was a minefield of doggy droppings. ... Saw a little tiny brown snake and some see tracks on our walk. ... Campsite was nice and quiet and shades. ... We love Columbia, esp. the canal and riverfront park. This is a good base. We’ll definitely be back.

Campsite has incredible views. We took short trips to Hanging Rock - which I can’t do justice with words, you just have to hike it, Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy. Also went to a couple of nearby wineries. Super accommodating owner, 20-volt hookup was fine for our 30-volt camper. Absolutely will be back. Quiet and peaceful.

Lots of full-timers. Beautiful view of river from pier. Nice pool with water slide but it was closed during our stay due to COVID-19. Same for playground. Friendly, accommodating staff. Clean, pull-through, easy to navigate sites. Only negative was loud music that went a bit over 11 pm quiet time. Small wildlife sanctuary nearby offers tours. Also close to Emerald Isle.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Crackle of campfire and squirrel chatter, occasional honk of a goose were the day’s soundtrack. Beautiful, clean, quiet.
