Site is very convenient to the Black Canyon National Park, gate is a mile or so up the road. There is a pretty long steady uphill climb to above 8,000’ to get to it. Keep the elevation in mind if depending on propane alone for your fridge.
We accessed the site easy enough with our 38’ travel trailer and were able to turn around at the road. Would not advise attempting to venture any further back with anything not for off road. There was what looked to be an abandoned RV backed into one of the sites.
We stayed at the end of October and did have lots of hunters coming in and off loading ATVs starting around 5 am.
The view was pretty nice of the San Juan Mtns in the distance. Would stay again if in the area.

Took a chance on stopping by here based on the sattellite view. Turned out to be a great little spot to camp right on the Snake River. Plenty of room for big rigs, there were several lined up on one end of the area. We shared the other half with one other camper. If there has been recent rain, check out the conditions before pulling in. Some areas obviously can get muddy from the looks of the ruts. There is a train track across the river that is a bit busy, but if you stay in enough campgrounds you start to get used to that. Felt comfortable with the area, talked with the guy next to us who said he frequents the spot and he had never had any issues with trouble type folks.

We are not usually big on private campgrounds since most are anything but relaxing. Whiskey Creek Beach is an exception to the rule. It is a really nice secluded location where you are crammed in like a parking lot, it's peaceful and has a great family running it. You can hear the waves crashing and enjoy the view of the water and the Canadian mountains across the straight wherever you are set up.
They can accommodate whatever your getaway style is be it an RV, a tent set up on a pad right on the water or renting one of their cabins. If that is not enough, they are still close enough to the national park and other parks as well as Port Angelas to keep you nice and occupied enjoying all the area has to offer.
If you are planning on coming to the area, I can't recommend enough staying here.

We were just scoping it out as a possible place to stay. There is no way we would try to get back to it with our 38’ travel trailer. Lots of low hanging branches, narrow dirt road with some tight dog legs. We turned around at the entrance. Just putting this up as a warning so you don’t try to get in with your rig and not be able to turn around.

Very clean and pretty quiet. Staff is super friendly and made sure we knew where we were going. Was really nice after a lot of miles that all sites were pull through, so quick to get to relaxing. Would stay again if passing through and needing a spot to chill.

We stayed while in town for some family business. Campground is overall a nice place. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Has a nice playground for the kiddos.
A few things to keep in mind when making reservations.
If you are over 30' and even possibly 25', do not even think about the B loop. We were told we could fit into B24 no problem, which we could have. Getting to B24 on the other hand was a problem. We arrived in the dark around 10:00 and wound up not being able to make the last turn at the site and spent the night in the road. Close enough to the site though to hook up! Not a fun time in the morning with getting back out.
Not all sites have water hook ups. Some have a shared hook up. Be sure to confirm the water access for the site you are reserving and have plenty of hose.
There were no campfire rings in the field loop. If that's important, have a portable fire ring with you.
Would stay again though!

Rocky Hock is a really nice campground. The campground is well maintained and sites are not crowded on top of each other. 50 amp and 30 amp electric, water and sewer hookups available. There is also a tent area tucked into the trees. WiFi seemed to be throughout the campground with around 3 meg speeds. There is an activity building with pool tables and laundry for $1.50 a load. There is a private pond for catch and release fishing with no state license required. Also a nine hole regular style golf coarse and paddle boats.
They have a concert hall where music shows are held on Friday nights.
There is no ATT service on phones, but we were able to get 2-3 meg service on our Nighthawk hotspot with an external antenna.

Stayed for 3 days while checking out Yosemite. Was close enough to make day trips doable. Staff was great. Had a site in the bear loop which is a newer addition, no sewer hookups yet in it, though there was a spot to dump on the way out. Access in the campground was not bad, though allow for extra time getting to the campground as the roads are very twisty pretty much from any direction.
Laundry was cheap at $1 per load, though the driers took a few runs to get loads dry.
No AT&T signal on our phones, was able to get enough of a signal on the hotspot with external antenna to stream with.
They do have propane on site for cash only, was $3.59 a gallon while we were there. There are gas and diesel pumps on site that take cards.
Little bit of traffic noise, but not too bad.
Would stay again.

We wound up stopping by in early April. Even though it was in the middle of spring break season and all Cave tour tickets were sold out for the week, getting a site was not an issue at all. The campground is nice a spacious with paved pads, many which are pull through. No hook ups, all though they did offer one full hook up site for $50 a night.

Spent one night here while traveling home and to check out the waterfall. Was height of the camping season and couldn't find anything for reservations online, so we decided to just stop in and try to get a site. That wound up being no issue as there was only one other RV and one tent site being used aside from the host. It's obvious that at one time the campground was a popular destination, these days it's mostly day hikers going to the falls though. The grounds are mainly kept up pretty good though and the weather was nice and cool for the middle of the summer.
The main attraction is Crabtree Falls. The hike to it is worth the climb back up to the trailhead and is recommended.
