Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 07, 2021We camped here with a group, so our experience is a little different. The whole campground has water and power and there's a dump station. There are 29 sites of average size, but not a lot of privacy and most on a pretty big slant. The park is 400 acres with a lot of trails for hiking and a lake for fishing. The tent sites were much more wooded and private.

At $20 for a W/E site, just a few minutes from Greensboro, in a lovely country park, this campground is a great deal. Campground is easy to access, everyone was friendly, and the park is very nice. The biggest downside is that our site was one of the tightest we've ever had, which was a little mystifying because there was tons and tons of space that could have been used to make the sites more pleasant and easier to get into. It took a lot of maneuvering to get set up so that we could put our slide out without taking our our neighbor's awning. The sites that will accommodate bigger rigs are mostly back ins around a big central field; there's another loop, mostly for smaller trailers and pop-ups where the sites are wooded and more spacious. Bathhouses were basically clean, but badly in need of updating and more ventilation. Water connections are shared between two sites, so make sure you have a splitter (we didn't, but luckily our neighbor did). It's an easy drive into Greensboro, and there's a new pool complex in the park (we didn't have time to check it out) and several hiking trails. Oh, one other quirk....when we arrived, there was no office open or person to check in with--we drove to the campground and were expected to remember which site we had booked online and find it ourselves. There was a park worker driving around in a golf cart when we arrived, though, helping people and checking them in.

We bought our camper in the mountains of NC, so we had to drive three hours home towing out new Rockwood A122 BH with our minivan that had blown an alternator earlier in the week. Not sure that my car could make it and after driving two hours on busy I-40, we were looking for a place to stay where we could relax for the night. As new RVers, we had no idea what to expect. After safely arriving to a beautiful county park dotted with historic buildings, we were pleased to see that we could easily back into our spot. When we realized that we didn't listen carefully to the salesperson when he explained how to take the camper off of the hitch, our neighbor graciously helped us and even let us borrow some wood to secure our wheels. The people seemed friendly, and a local woman even came by to selling homemade pies, but we were unfortunately out of cash. If the peaceful setting wasn't enough, the proximity to downtown Greensboro was an added bonus. We were able to find some great dog-friendly breweries and restaurants, and there is a plethora of chain stores like PetSmart where we purchased a bed for our dog in a last-minute attempt to stop her from trying to climb up in our bed at night. It worked, and we had a successful and memorial first night as RV owners thanks to setting at Hagan-Stone. We just bought Foo Fighter tickets for their Greensboro show so that we have an excuse to return!

As Lorillard Tobacco Retirees we celebrated our 2nd annual retiree camping and dinner gathering at the park.
The park is over all excellent, very peaceful, clean and the staff was amazingly helpful. Love this campground and will return in 2018 for our 3rd event !
Thanks to all the Staff at Hagan Stone Park that made our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed while in town for some family business. Campground is overall a nice place. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Has a nice playground for the kiddos.
A few things to keep in mind when making reservations.
If you are over 30' and even possibly 25', do not even think about the B loop. We were told we could fit into B24 no problem, which we could have. Getting to B24 on the other hand was a problem. We arrived in the dark around 10:00 and wound up not being able to make the last turn at the site and spent the night in the road. Close enough to the site though to hook up! Not a fun time in the morning with getting back out.
Not all sites have water hook ups. Some have a shared hook up. Be sure to confirm the water access for the site you are reserving and have plenty of hose.
There were no campfire rings in the field loop. If that's important, have a portable fire ring with you.
Would stay again though!

Great little park. They was able to fit me in for just a single night by calling. Site has electric and water no sewer but does have a dump station. Only 2 bad things are small sites and you share water so bring a Y adapter. Nice trails to go for short walks. Also don't forget the fire ring

Pros:
• Most of the B sites are in a nice wooded setting.
• There’s plenty of trails to walk during the day.
• Very quiet even though the sites are pretty close together.
• There’s a Food Lion and Gas Station 10 minutes away if you forget anything.
• Clean bathhouses with hot water.
Cons:
• Our site (B20) was reaaally uneven but we made it work for 2 tents!
• If you tent camp in the B lot, the bathhouse is a bit of a walk.
• You have to bring your own firewood or buy it ($5 a bundle) - gathering firewood from the woods is not allowed.
• Water is shared between sites.

Campground is fine, some shaded and wooded sites and others more out in the open with good level sites. Did not use the bathhouse. We have family in the area and it is very convenient for us. Staff is very friendly. If website says no availability be sure to call, there were many unoccupied sites.

A little weird checking in because the parking lot was roped off but we just pulled over. C Lot is the best for longer rigs and big rigs will want to be on the straight sides, avoiding the corners. Our TT is 28’ HTB but the space we thought was just for us was actually two campsites. C32& 33 are both in the the corner and would best be utilized by shorter rigs so 32 & 33 don’t block each other. Easy to level. Water & Electric with dump onsite, free to registered campers. All the sites are marked reserved and the campground’s sign says full but it was barely half full. Water pressure at site not great but fine in bathhouse, although bathhouse isn’t the cleanest and lots of bugs. Campsites mostly clean but smaller trash items overlooked. Would still stay here again. Convenient to Greensboro, super friendly staff, and generally pleasant.

Friendly staff combined with trails to walk and quiet at night gets this place a second star but beyond that I see no redeeming qualities. We stayed in the open lot, section C. Sites are packed in side by side on narrow gravel drives that slope to the back and provide no room to sit out and no privacy. The B lot is under trees but I've honestly never seen anything like it. It's like someone picked out a stand of trees, ran some power and water and poured gravel over the entire thing. Sites are all over the place, sloping in all directions. It's hard to see where the sites are and where you can drive. It's truly bizarre.
