This park isn't flashy, and it certainly isn't a resort, but it is comfortable and there is so much to do in the area. The manager met us upon arrival and gave us a very thorough introduction to the park as well as restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations. There are some drawbacks, but most can be seen as positives if you try. There is no off-leash dog area, but there is ample space to walk dogs along trails; we had plenty of room for our larger dogs to get their exercise and actually preferred this to cramped fenced areas at most parks (there is a great grassy dog park on the other side of town if your dog needs room to run). Vehicles can travel too fast down the two (actual) streets that run through the campground; this may present safety challenges for children and animals, but it also means the streets are wide when navigating your RV through the park. The sites themselves are incredibly long pull-throughs with packed rocks on a fairly level plot. RVs are parked in a staggered formation so you never have anyone super close to you. There is some noise from the nearby I-40, but that is a small price to pay for a convenient location. Wifi download speeds are fast; Verizon and AT&T voice and data are good without booster. We did not use the showers or restrooms; we only used the laundry room once and then used the laundromat in town for bedding, etc. Do yourself a favor and eat at Aliberto's which is within walking distance!
