This campground is gated but not locked with a sign that says Everyone Welcome but call to register. I arrived in late October, called and and left a message, then went in and picked a spot to set up. Some friendly people came by to register me and collect $20 within an hour or so.

Campsites are not clearly defined - there is an open area where you can camp on the grass in the sunshine or if you prefer, there is a wooded area closer to the river where you can set up. I believe there are some full hookup sites for an additional fee.

Garbage receptacles throughout the camp plus some playground equipment. Baseball fields nearby. There is a friendly man who lives on site and is currently working on improvements to the main building.

In summer, they host a big event here during which the campground is filled to capacity. It appears this property belongs to a community organization that is focused on recreation and conservation and they are doing a good job taking care of the land and ensuring it is available for the community to enjoy.

We called ahead and spoke with a manager to get permission to stay overnight. Security guards approached us shortly after store closing to ask us to leave but once we explained we had permission and gave the manager's name, they were fine with that.

The store Manager Allan came by the next day to let us know that RVers are welcome for overnight stays. The second day as well the director of operations for the complex came by and offered us an electric hookup behind an adjacent building which we gratefully accepted for the next couple nights as the overnight temps were low.

About 4kms south of the Cabela's is a nature preserve called FortWhyte Alive. There is an admission fee but you can access for free via free a bike path that leads to FortWhyte from the back corner of the condo complex adjacent to the Cabela's. The pathway is pet friendly at the north end but once you enter FortWhyte, no dogs are allowed. Great place to go cycling - they have a herd of Bison you can see from that trail.

Located just south of Whistler, and right off the Sea-to-Sky highway, this is an extremely popular campground with 3 loops of sites available. We arrived in the evening on a Saturday in June and were grateful to find a place in their overflow area, a large open gravel spot below the hydro lines after the second loop.

The sites were along dirt roads that wound through the forest. The first loop, closest to the road, would have the most highway noise but it wasn’t too bad as it is down a hill and a short distance away. The third loop, Confluence, had a foot trail that led to a pedestrian suspension bridge over the river. Calcheak Forest Service Road also crosses the river and there is a trail from the overflow area to the river as well, so you can view the water from multiple spots.

Cell signal was decent, mosquitoes and black flies were present. A ranger came by just before dusk to collect a camping fee from us. Fee for actual sites was $13 but since we were in the overflow area, it was half price, $6.50 which seemed entirely reasonable. She said that previously they didn’t have an overflow area but they opened one up to help accommodate demand at peak times. Yay! There were about 8 RVs in the overflow area that night.

A short drive up the road is Whistler Village. They have oversize parking for RVs in Lot 3 – easy to find, just follow the signs. Price was $10 for regular cars for the day 8 am – 5pm (free after 5pm) and double that $20 for RVs over 20’. Pay by credit card at the machine entering your license plate.

Saw this campground as I was driving by. I did not stay here but noticed they have a sanidump and waterfill for $2 right at the entrance to the campground and available for non-campers to use as well.

Campground is fully exposed to the highway so there was significant traffic noise.

Good cell signal.

Awesome free municipal dump in Devon, open seasonally which means closed in winter. Call for exact dates. Sign says it is for Devon residents but there was no threatening signage for non-residents and no one there monitoring use.

Plenty of room for large rigs - you can pull up from either direction so 2 people can line up to dump at the same time, though there is only one dump opening.

Free fresh water fill separate from the dump flush hose. The signs to pay for water are for large commercial fill hoses that are suspended overhead in the adjacent bay.

Thank you Devon!

Located on Crown Land directly adjacent to the Town of Osoyoos, this area is accessed via a gravel road that climbs and winds through the hillside. There are multiple large pull out areas suitable for camping that can each accommodate multiple rigs. I was able to drive up 100 m to the first open area with my minivan towing a travel trailer with the wheels slipping only a little on the gravel hill. However, the road gets steeper as it continues, so 4 wheel drive would be better if you want to camp farther up.

I was there in late April and there were a couple spots where there was mud, and water flowing down the hillside. However all the main access road areas were dry and reasonably hard packed but with some surface loose gravel . There was some garbage at the site which I picked up – however it being late April, I may be the first person to camp there this spring. Hopefully the area is kept cleaner in the summer time as people camp regularly.

The area is stunningly beautiful with views of the hillside and overlooking the town and Lake Osoyoos. Wildlife is plentiful: deer, coyotes, falcons and hawks, plus free range cattle roam around (there is a cattle grate at the entrance). Great place to go for a walk or hike through the hills.

Cell signal was in and out where I camped but the signal was blocked by a hill. Farther up campsites have a clear line of sight to cell towers and another camper confirmed the signal is better.

Signage strictly prohibits dumping even grey water here but no problem as there is a free city dump nearby. This is an Off Road Vehicle area and people apparently do bring their ATVs here to drive around on dirt roads that criss-cross the area. However, a sign says it is an environmentally sensitive area and there are fines for leaving well-established roads or trails.

On Campbell Lake, this provincial rec site campground is poised alongside a protected bay on the north side of the lake. At the bottom of the hill to the right is a deep site with water view but no access. To the left are two clusters of sites that can accommodate one or two rigs with water view and access. The campground road dead ends at a single, narrow site with its own private beach and beautiful lake views. Water was clear and not too cold for swimming if you are tough. Ha!

There is a parking area just before the end of the road but not big enough to turn around while towing. We backed our 17’ travel trailer down to the end site as we were planning to stay awhile. However, this was not an easy feat – scope this out carefully for yourself before attempting this as we were barely able to turn the rig around using a multi point turn in one of the cluster sites. Leveling up was tricky as well and we needed all our blocks, levellers and chocks to pull it off.

Some cell signal comes across the lake but we needed a cell booster to access it. Signal was in and out during rainy weather but we could get 4G signal at times on Bell Canada and AT&T.

Easy 25 minute drive to town past Loveland Bay Provincial Park, across the John Hart Dam and past Elk Falls Provincial Park Day Use area where you can hike to the famous Elk Falls Suspension Bridge.

This campground is located beside Summit Lake, a medium-sized, bright jade green lake. Surrounded by mountains with spruce trees – it is a gorgeous place to camp. Located right off the highway, the campground has about 5 sites on the water and many more with water views. Arrive earlier in the afternoon to snag a waterfront or waterview site.

The camping area is fairly open – good solar exposure but limited privacy. A couple hiking trails lead from the campground into the surrounding mountains, including the 6 km Flower Springs Lake Trail that takes 5 hours to hike.

Site has pit toilets and garbage bins and a water spigot. No dump station and no hook-ups. Payment via iron ranger – place cash in envelope and deposit in metal post.

Day use area with gravel parking area and cement boat launch. Highway noise is muted by the wind and waves coming off the lake. Only the louder tractor trailer trucks were noticeable. No cell service at all on AT&T or Bell Canada even with a booster although a tower was within view.

Accessible free dump a the gas station. Aisle for dump and fill is shared with propane filling station so you might have to wait to dump if someone is filling propane.

Right beside the Walmart parking lot in Whitehorse which has lots of RVs most of the summer.

If possible, please show your appreciation by purchasing gas or propane when you dump!

Private sanidump connected to the gas station. Dump is locked with a padlock that requires a key so you have to go to the log cabin type building beside the retail gas pumps to pay $10 and get the key first. Then drive across a huge gravel lot filled with potholes to get to the dump, then drive back to the log cabin to return the key. Dump is pricey at $10.

If you are heading south, there is a free municipal dump station with fresh water fill in Terrace at the visitor centre! If you are heading north, there is a free municipal dump in Watson Lake and you can get fresh water at the Watson Lake Visitor Centre.
