Located on Crown Land directly adjacent to the Town of Osoyoos, this area is accessed via a gravel road that climbs and winds through the hillside. There are multiple large pull out areas suitable for camping that can each accommodate multiple rigs. I was able to drive up 100 m to the first open area with my minivan towing a travel trailer with the wheels slipping only a little on the gravel hill. However, the road gets steeper as it continues, so 4 wheel drive would be better if you want to camp farther up.
I was there in late April and there were a couple spots where there was mud, and water flowing down the hillside. However all the main access road areas were dry and reasonably hard packed but with some surface loose gravel . There was some garbage at the site which I picked up – however it being late April, I may be the first person to camp there this spring. Hopefully the area is kept cleaner in the summer time as people camp regularly.
The area is stunningly beautiful with views of the hillside and overlooking the town and Lake Osoyoos. Wildlife is plentiful: deer, coyotes, falcons and hawks, plus free range cattle roam around (there is a cattle grate at the entrance). Great place to go for a walk or hike through the hills.
Cell signal was in and out where I camped but the signal was blocked by a hill. Farther up campsites have a clear line of sight to cell towers and another camper confirmed the signal is better.
Signage strictly prohibits dumping even grey water here but no problem as there is a free city dump nearby. This is an Off Road Vehicle area and people apparently do bring their ATVs here to drive around on dirt roads that criss-cross the area. However, a sign says it is an environmentally sensitive area and there are fines for leaving well-established roads or trails.

Sweet boondocking with million dollar view. We stayed twice, returning to our spot on the way back through Osoyoos to the states after exploring further east for a few days. There are multiple spots to stay. We chose the second flat area up from the gate but have seen more suitable places further up and on the other paths leading more to the right (we chose straight up). It’s a rough road with partially steep sections but only about 300m to the spot we can picked, no problem pulling our trailer with the Jeep.
Would highly recommend this hidden jem.
We saw NO other people camping and only a handful locals walking dogs, moto crossing etc.

This location in its self is beautiful but it's unfortunate a few are, as usual, ruining it for the rest of us who understand what it means to stay for the 14 day limit. They tow their old trailer or mobile in and their flower pots and claim a site as their own. They've hit the jackpot as far as they're concerned and guard it as if it is their titled property. I recently went there for what was to be a 3 night stay (I'm local to the area). After a couple of them came over to where I was able to pull off the road (there were no more 'sites' available because of their squatting) I left after 1 night. They wanted to know what I was doing there. And yes I've had fellow campers wanting to meet others but this was more like a territorial encounter. I felt like I was invading what they felt was theirs.
This could lead to some major problems in the future if this isn't nipped in the bud.
The government needs to come in and get them on their merry way. No doubt this will lead to another closure of should be a Rec Site for ALL TO ENJOY, not a few who think they're empowered.

This used to be lovely BUT a..wholes have left garbage, old wrecks, abandoned tents, pooped outside leaving their shitty wipes all over.
This is a disgrace to Canadians. There are at least 5 full time squatters that have lived up there since the pandemic. Over 2 years. It’s ruined for its intended use for campers. It’s more like an homeless camp.
Awful
