This was a nice base camp for us! It's a short drive to Tallahassee and the Gulf coast. Our favorite part about this park was the bathrooms. They were PHENOMENAL! You get your own little bathroom with a full shower, toilet, sink, the works. It was honestly the best showers we've seen on the road in the 3 years we've been traveling in our RV. They also have laundry which is pay by card or app only. It's a $1.75 a load and they have 4 sets of washers/dryers. Everything was kept tidy and clean from the bathrooms to the sites itself. The golf course was closed for renovation when we went but it said that they were reopening it this summer if you're a golfer. They also have a dog park that is in the middle of campground that was kept clean as well.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay for our whole stay we had booked due to an unforeseen circumstance back home we needed to attend to. The manager Jennifer was so nice and even called us to see what had happen. It seemed like a nice place.

We stayed here overnight while we visited the town of Natchitoches which is about a 10 minute drive from the RV park. The park was great! Nice open sites with water, electric, and sewer. There was an activities center (we didn't go in because it looked like there was a group inside having a get-together/potluck), playground, nice bathhouse with laundry. The bathhouse set up was the private shower and toilet combo which was super clean. There's a boat launch that is a part of of the RV park. I couldn't see us staying for an extended period of time just because there isn't a lot to do in the area. We spent one night exploring Natchitoches (which is really all you need in my opinion because other than the small downtown/historic area it's just like every other small town with your big box stores, fast-food, etc.

We loved this state park! Plenty of walking, biking, hiking trails. They also have two ponds that you can fish from. The campground was nicely kept up. Bathhouse was cleaned everyday. They had one washer and dryer which is located on the outside of bathhouse but it was kept really clean. We got to see plenty of deer and other wildlife while we were out walking our dogs in the morning! Just a lovely place all the way around. No cell phone coverage for T-Mobile.

We stayed here on our way down to the Keys and it's a nice campground but if we were to stay here again it would only be for an overnight stop. The campground itself is kept up. Bathrooms are clean. No showers but they do have potable water up by the front of the campground. There are alligators in the pond that's in the middle of the campground. I've only seen one at a time but the camp host said that they will come to lay their eggs there. I'm honestly surprised that they allow dogs here because of the presence of gators. They only allow you to walk your dogs on the right side of the road which is the opposite of the lake. My husband did see a gator come out and go in-between two campers one night and I heard one growl while I was walking our dogs during the day. I never saw it so I'm assuming that it was in the brush along the bank but we hightailed it out of there. It's not a bad campground but be cautious when out walking especially if you have small children or animals with you and always carry a flashlight with you at night.

We loved our time here! The campground is located at the back of the park. When you enter from the main entrance the ranger entrance is on your right which is where you'll check in. We arrived after 5PM and they were already closed even thouugh the email we received said that check-in was from 2PM-9PM but we checked in the next morning and didn't have a problem. FYI, they do take a photocopy of EVERYONE that's staying on the campsite ID's not just the person who made the reservation. They have 3 different loops (A-C). We walked around them and Loop A is pretty tight but you have some nice shade, Loop B (which is where we were) was spacious but shade was a hit or miss depending on your site, Loop C was tight with no shade. Not sure about the other loops but our loop had the hook-ups on the wrong side so we had to pull our camper in and unhook then pull our truck back around BUT we had so much room that it was never an issue for us. One camper even pulled in parallel to the hook-up's and still had a lot of room. The park is your typical city park. Had a playground, a couple of small ponds, dog park, picnic areas, disc golf, etc. It was an amazing park! The weekend that we stayed they were having a Blueberry Festival. My husband was speaking to the people who were in the site next to us who seemed to be snowbirds and they were saying that they heard that they will be increasing the night rate from $23 to $40ish a night and the max number of days you could stay would be reduced from 180 to 90 next year but I'm not sure how true this is. They also mentioned that they have events/festivals just about every weekend. Our last night there we had a women that showed up later in the evening who seemed to be homeless and pitched a tent under a tree that was close to our site. It was our last night there, we never heard a peep out of her, and she kept all of her belongings nice and tidy so we didn't mind. In some other reviews i've read about this park is that they had some trouble with homeless people in the past coming to camp but I guess that has mostly been resolved because she was the only one that we noticed. There's also a ranger on duty 24-7 if you end up having an issue with anything so that was nice.

For only having electric hookups and no hot water in the T-Loop bathhouse $40 a night seemed overpriced for us but we wanted to stay in the National Park and there wasn't a lot of other good options around so we sucked it up and paid it. The campground itself was well maintained. All the sites were big and pull-through. The staff that we encountered were nice and helpful. Of course there's a lot to do in the area considered you're in the National Park. They have a marina that has a store that is your typical convenience/camp store. You could rent boats and kayaks through them. They also had a food truck there.

This is no reflection of the campground itself but I wanted people to be aware if you decided to stay here. The snakes are PLENTIFUL, mostly along the main roadway at night but we did see a couple in our campground. One of them happened to be a Pygmy Rattlesnake that was just a few inches off the pavement. We never saw it because it was curled up in some leaves and it ended up biting our dog who in turn we had to put down. The snakes along the roadway were cottonmouths. Please be aware of yourself, small kids, and animals if you bring them. The mosquitos were AWFUL! The only time we weren't getting attacked was mid-day. Other than that there were swarms of them. We've camped a lot of places all over the US and I've never seen them that bad. Bring lots of bug spray, you're going to need it.

This isn't the type of campground we normally camp at but we had some last minute changes in our plans and was able to get a spot here. The campground is decently sized but the campsites are pretty much right on top of each other. They have both pull-through and back in sites. Some back-in sites are gravel and some are paved. There was only a gravel sites left when we were booking so that's what we got. You cannot pick a site. You just pay for a site and they assign it to you when you get here. We got lucky and got a site on the end of a row so backing our trailer in wasn't a problem but I couldn't imagine trying to back one in if you got a site in the middle since the sites are pretty tight. They have a lot of amenities. Definitely family friendly. They have a playground, small basketball court, pool, pavilion with an indoor area where they host different activities each week such as bingo, game night, kids crafts, etc. The bathhouse was decent. A little dated but it was clean and served its purpose. It's a good base camp if you're wanting to visit both Mobile and Dauphin Island as its in the middle of those. About 15 minutes from Dauphin Island and 30 from Mobile. The only true gripe I have about this place is that the No-See-Um's were AWFUL at our site!!! We couldn't open any of vents, windows, or the door without the trailer being full of them. You really couldn't even sit outside because they were so bad which was unfortunate because we had some decent weather while we here. It wasn't so bad that we wouldn't stay here again if we were in the area but we would look at some other places first.

We stayed a weekend in Key West and were pretty much on the move exploring the area so we didn't spend much time in the campground. They are pretty expensive but they do have a lot of amenities and a great location to Key West. Just a short 10 min drive to Duval St and the Historic downtown area. Besides staying at a state park just about every campground in the Keys is expensive so it's a pretty average price for this area. The office stays open to 11PM so if you're late you can still check in. They have guys who are on golf carts who will escort you to your spot and help you back in. The office has a lot to offer from souvenirs to camping equipment for RV's and tents to food items. Very convenient if you're in a pinch or just don't want to get out of the campground for something simple. They have 2 different laundry facilities. They were kept very clean and only a $1.50 a load. Bathrooms were nice, clean, and well ventilated. They don't have A/C but the weather was perfect when we were there so this wasn't an issue but I can see it being very hot in the summer time. A couple of things they had but we didn't utilize were a marina, pool, fish/lobster cleanup area, game room, a Cuban food truck and a dump station if you had a site that didn't have full hookups. The sites are extremely tight but manageable. The only thing we didn't enjoy about this campground is that they have a dog breed restriction due to insurance. Which we understand but it still sucks because we rarely run into this problem since we stay at a lot of state/city parks, national parks, etc. where they don't have this rule. We have a 12 year old Doberman who travels everywhere with us and has really bad anxiety. We ended up boarding her and our other dog just so she wouldn't be by herself at Abigail & Stitch which is like a 2 minute drive down the street. They did a great job and we would definitely use them again if we were to stay here again.

We loved our stay here. It's super close to town and the beach. We camped in Pine Grove campground which had full hookups and are closer to the entrance to the campground. The other campground is at the back of the park where the visitors center, rental equipment, and cabins are located. The campground and bathhouses were well maintained! Laundry was at each bathhouse and cost $2.50 for a load on both the washer and dryer. It rained our entire stay here so we didn't get to get out and do much around the park but they have bike and hiking trails, kayaking, tours along the river, and some other stuff. Being close to the main entrance you did hear some highway traffic if you were outside but honestly it was barely noticeable. Really nice park!
