After dry camping in Great Smokey Mountain National Park, Greenbrier's facilities and hot showers were much appreciated. The campground is located far enough away from touristy Gatlinburg to provide a nature ambience. Sites are fairly close together, but the walk along the river provided a terrific place for our pup to pounce around.

We stopped for 1 night as we traveled home. Lovely park and friendly staff. However, showers were dated and dirty
Sites along the "A" loop are plenty spaced apart, each with a nice picnic and fire area down a hill. Site A04 is on an incline (thus the reason for the downhill picnic area). Beautiful area

Beautiful, clean state park. Sites are nicely spaced apart, level, and provide lovely views. We stayed on the Yellowhammer Loop.

This park was fine for an overnight stay, but it was very crowded in the middle of the week in October (fall break?). Quiet hours were not enforced.

Cades Cove campground is just off Cades Cove Loop allowing for easy twilight and dusk access to wildlife watch. The sites are relatively close together, but the beautiful wood around it makes one feel fairly secluded. Dry camping only, so amenities are basic. No firewood can be brought from outside the park and food packaging is strictly enforced.

First, be prepared. Camping in the Great Smokey Mountains is fairly primitive. There are basic bathrooms with outdoor sinks for dishwashing, but that is all. The beauty of the campground makes the experience well worth it. Sites are nicely spaced apart, and even though we weren't on a river, there were plenty of river access spots. Our site was level and well-maintained. Short walk to the clean bathrooms.
