Overview Twiltley Campground is the only full-service campground managed by the Corps of Engineers at Okatibbee Lake, a 11,000 acre multi-purpose recreation area in eastern Mississippi. Recreation With eagles and hawks in the area, families will enjoy keeping an eye out for these magnificent birds. Water sports including fishing and water skiing are always popular on the lake; however, fishing from the banks also yields a good amount of crappie, bass and bream. Facilities With four boat ramps and three designated swimming areas, there's plenty of ways to enjoy the lake shore. Many sites have electric hookups and there's a pay phone onsite. Pets are allowed on a six (6) foot or shorter leash.Natural Features Okatibbee Lake boasts 4,000 acres of water surface in the Pascagoula River Basin. Extensive beaver flowages, stump beds and old creek channels provide abundant cover where anglers battle largemouth and striped bass. Summers are hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 70 to 98 degrees Fahrenheit. Nearby Attractions Explore Chicasawhay and Okatibbee Creeks upstream of the lake. The creeks flow through the Okatibbee State Wildlife Area.

Spectacular setting on Lake Okatibbee in rural Mississippi. Very end of October and very few people here. Typical well maintained COE site. Collinsville, with Walmart and cheap gas 10 miles away. Water/electric sites with dump on the way out. Price based on senior pass. Good Verizon coverage and OTA TV.

Great location on beautiful lake. No showers near campsites and no internet makes if a 4-star not a 5-star. Flat, shaded, crushed rock pads on the lake bank with trash cans, picnic tables, lantern hook and fire pit at the campsite. Would have been $10 if we'd been able to find our senior pass, but it's $20 without one.

We stayed in the loop on the slough and just loved it. The only downside was that the bathroom/showers were a short hike from the campsite loops and only one of the two showers in both the women's and the men's restrooms were working at the time we were there. The campground hosts were really nice and it was so peaceful here. There are coin washers and a dryer here and a good grocery store just a couple of miles down the road. We were able to get good TV reception and Verizon cell service.
The price we paid reflects our senior pass discount.

Showed up 830pm. Camp hosts are very friendly.
Site 30 didn’t have a bunch of grass space for a tent so we had to set up on the gravel site. Worked out fine. Sites have a camp fire ring and a bbq pit. Most have an aluminum picnic table
Tons of trees and shade. Walking distance for the restrooms. Very dark at night which is great for camping.

The only negative I could find with this park was the fact that there is only one shower facility for the whole park.
The threat of Alligators had us a little on edge but we never even saw one.
I have posted two of my YouTube videos of this park in the "blog posts" tab.
you should go!

We parked our 41' MH in site 34, plenty of room. looked like adjacent sites 33 and 32 would also be long enough. The hairpin turn at the north end of Black Gum Loop is very tight though.
Easy check in. Nice lake views, quiet. Picnic table, lantern hanger, fire ring, and grill. 50A elec and water.

The Black Gum loop are backed against the water. It was nearly empty, so we had our section to ourselves. I could live here.
We came in from the north on 45 in what turned out to be a GPS nightmare. Rocking down logging roads in a motor home is NOT relaxing. Go to Meridian and find 19 through Collinsville. Much better route.

Great campground with big back in spots. We’re backed right up to the lake. Perfect for bike rides and lots of shade. Only downside, neighbors are fairly close.
