We spent 8 nights at Hippie Hole arriving on New Year's eve. We were alone for several days, then 4 more travelers trickled in over the next couple of days. Great little park right on the Colorado river that looked very inviting. Still a little too cool but looked like a paddle type kayak would have easy access-we have pedal (Hobie) kayak and the large sand bar made it look a bit too shallow in this area. The Cibola Wildlife Refuge entrance was just a few miles away and did not disappoint. Be sure to bring supplies-closet store of any size is about 20 miles away in Blythe. Very very clean vault toilets and very nice picnic tables with shelters. See my blog for more pictures and information!

Pulled in early on Thursday. After reading reviews, we found a site and started setting up. Soon, security showed up to let us know they had sites with electricity available if we were interested. They took hubby for a ride around the lot and helped him choose site 33 on the perimeter. We were able to level easily and had FREE 50 amp electricity!
Since we were killing time and trying to stay out of the heat wave we opted to stay the full 4 days. First night is completely free. Must sign up for player's card -we got $10 in free play as new members-and earn a combined 50 pts per day to earn another free night. You can stay up to 4 nights every 14 days with this system.
We are on day 3 and are down about $35 total and have the points for tonight's stay...so it cost us around $9/day for this site with electricity.
We've enjoyed a bit of gambling-not a big gambler, saw a car show in the parking lot yesterday, enjoyed several coastal hikes in the area, saw a live entertainer for the first time in months (covid), enjoyed the local chowder, and stayed out of the heat wave and fire smoke ravaging the west coast.
When we arrived around 2 on Thursday there were several electric sites available. Some have stayed one day, some several days like us. The lot was packed full last night. Quiet time is 10p-7a and all seem to respect that. Lots of families here and was fun to see kids sledding down the sand dune hills that surround the parking lot. Really feels like an urban campground.
We have very fast verizon-streaming tv and on the net without issue and get all the local channels OTA-nbc, cbs, abc, and fox along with a few others. Enjoying basketball playoffs easily!
The staff are super friendly and welcoming, unlike some other casino's we've been to over the years. Definitely keeping this one in the "will return" file!

We have stayed at Red Hawk multiple times during our first 6 months of full time RV living. We are from the area originally and when we have business to do or family to see, we always stay here. There is an area just behind the parking garage that can accommodate large rigs, backing in and looks pretty level. We prefer the lower parking lot for deliveries and staff. They store the extra buses down there and occasionally there is another camper or a semi rig. It is very sloped and there are only a couple places to get level without blocks. However, once you find those spots, it is private, smooth, has a great view and security is always around to take you up to the casino if you want to go. We do very little gambling but we always enjoy a few meals to help patronize the casino for their hospitality. They have a great buffet and we have never felt unsafe staying here.

We chose Zephyr Cove last minute when some other plans fell through. It was late April and the weather was going to be perfect and securing a site this time of year was easy-doubt anyone will get in during the summer months without early reservations. Some sites are very tight. We were originally going to be in site 135 and there was no way we could fit between the trees at the entrance while making a slight turn as well. They put us in site 174 which is a back in site with a retaining wall next to the passenger's side. We could not open our basement doors or sit out beside the rig. Our picnic table and fire ring were on the driver's side right next to the sewer hose. We had no plans to sit out or picnic as my husband was going to be kayak fishing and I would be hiking with the dogs so it was fine. At least we could get level without the use of blocks-many could not. (We are in the mountains) Cell reception was fair. During the off season check in is at the store across the street and the lady working was not the most accommodating or friendly. I'm still waiting to have my AAA discount applied retroactively. All that being said-this is Lake Tahoe with an amazing beach-in a shallow cove-which makes swimming tolerable-always very cold water-great trails, and outstanding views. So, yes we will be back. You cannot reserve specific sites-just the type- pull through, 25 ft, 40 ft, etc. If you have an option and need a larger site, ask for 137. It looked the most level and is a 40 ft pull through. There are several pictures of the campground and the area on my blog.

Hubby and I were spending a few weeks just free styling around Oregon, no plan, no reservations, trying to stay cool and away from the fires until our scheduled appt in NorCal on Sept 1.
We had visited crater lake and were looking for dry camping on a river at a higher elevation in the area when I found Keno Camp!
$10/night-dry camping. Picnic table and grill/fire pit at each site and spigots-can’t attach hose :( -would have been nice to fill-but this is one of the only negatives for this dry camp.
There are 27 total sites. Only 3 were occupied when we arrived. The second loop seemed to have bigger sites. Getting level was a challenge for us-38 ft class A-in site 23. It’s a drive in site and we had to put 4 high snap levelers under rear tires and under jacks.
I would suggest 22, 25 or 26 for big rigs from the loop we stayed. Not sure Re 1-11 sites.
Site 27 is a neat group site halfway down the hill to the boat ramp. Not sure what it rents for, but it’s a cool little spot.
Lots of areas to walk. Dogs and I easily got miles in each day walking down to the river by the boat ramp and then to the dam
The dam is a great spot to see birds-pelican, seagulls, a few different kinds of ducks, crane, heron. Before sunset they start gathering on a floating log roll fence near the dam that crosses the river.
The area is full of animal life. Hubby and I kayaked upstream-it’s between 2 dams so very little current in this spot. Hubby took depth finder on his kayak and it averaged around 10-16 ft deep. Stay a couple feet from banks and you’ll be fine (we had pedal drive kayaks with rudders so made sure we knew depth). You can go on both sides of the little island you encounter as you pedal upstram. Plenty deep enough.
There were quite a lot of markings on his fish finder as well. We didn’t fish this time.
There were deer all along the river’s edges, doe and bucks. We heard and saw tons of turtles, dragon flies, and of course birds-everywhere birds.
We kayaked it twice in the late afternoon and neither time did we see another person on the river. So peaceful!
Met a lovely couple who showed up on our 3rd day-Scott and Tammy-who also found this place because of campendium! Only a few campers came and went during our 5 days.
Devan, camp host, and her hubby were so nice. Always happy to visit but left us to ourselves. Rounded and waved. Felt very safe and the bathroom was the cleanest I think I’ve ever seen! Can’t speak to water pressure temp as I didn’t use facilities but soo clean!
Day use area had some playground equipment, some swings and the coolest bbq fire pits I’ve seen! I thought they were wells so I had to check! They have a big mesh rack on a cable that can raise and lower it over the fire bed. I thought that was so cool!
We did have to turn around at the dump station-it’s on the right hand side as you drive toward exit. Devan said they are putting a turnaround loop solution in to address this next year.
They are putting in new picnic tables and doing some trimming as well. It’s an older park and there is very little in Keno, although I hear the bar has good food. Klamath Falls is the nearest town for real supplies and it’s a 25-30 min drive. Well worth it if you’re looking for a moment of peace. Oh yeah, blazing fast internet and quite a few OTA channels!

We've been here a couple of times in our 38 ft Class A. The grassy areas in front of the property were where the sewer connections were located for "full hook ups" Electricity is sketchy but available-I would encourage a surge protector if you plug in. Cal Trans came by early spring and reassessed property lines and there is no longer camping available in the front meadows-owner had to move her house back 8 feet and several permanent trailers had to leave as their sites were on the right of way area. Losing that area, there is very little room for a trailer or RV of any size. The spots she has are about the length and width of a pick up truck-great for tent camping. The views are remarkable and there is great kayak launching here. We will no longer be able to camp here, but will go a couple miles down the road to Ocean Cove-will review with our first trip there soon. I will miss being able to camp here. This is more of a fishing camp ground-it is not safe for small children and is quite rustic. Please don't go thinking this is a good destination for small kids. It's not. But for what it is, it is beautiful and peaceful. I only wish they had room for us. There is no cell service and camp wifi is sketchy at best.

We needed a place last minute the 23rd and 24th of December. Decided we wanted to have hook ups for a couple days before heading out to boondock. DO NOT email them via their website. I had emailed asking about availability 2 days prior and finally heard back AFTER we checked in that they were "full through December". (They were not-spots next to us open)
Doris was wonderful when I called and worked us into their "overflow" area last minute. We had 30 amp and water but no sewer. They do have free dump station on site but it was difficult to find-we left on Christmas Day and noone was working that day-no map provided on arrival. Another woman was working the desk when we arrived and asked if we had dogs. I said yes 2 and she asked their weight-apparently they don't take dogs over 35 lbs without prior approval and Doris had failed to ask us. Gal made a call and gave us the okay for 2 nights only for our German Shorthair pointers.
Area is a little sketchy. I did walk the dogs along the sidewalks in the area and ran into homeless but they were all harmless and kept to themselves. I wouldn't walk after dark personally. Never saw security. Guy who parked us was friendly. Laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. It's quite far from the strip but that's not what we were there for anyway. Ate down the street at the Boulder Station Casino-decent buffet on Christmas eve. Had good cell service and got over 20 over air channels.

Be careful if you go very far past Mojo's Camp-we bottomed out our RV driving over a big dip in the road and did some damage. Stay closer to the front. After the dip we turned around and parked at the first level area we could find-across from Mojo's. There was a lot of trash around, cleaner near Salvation Mountain and the early part of the area. Lots of dogs loose but always with owners, seemed very well behaved. The deeper you go the dirtier it is. People were friendly. Only Spanish speaking tv OTA, but great verizon and fast streaming with our hotspot was an odd experience for me. See my blog for details-posted here.

Found this again here on campendium, needing a free layover on our way from Borrego Palm Canyon to Oceanside. We could not have been happier-well maybe if there had been OTA tv-none-but streaming was excellent. The views here are amazing, the staff is so friendly and it was pretty quiet for a Fri and Sat night stay.
You need to join the player's club, then take your card and your ID to security to get a parking permit. Then you can stay 72 hours.
Player's club gave us each $10 free play and a free buffet dinner-it was lobster night! Holy moses we just hit the jackpot! Free parking for 72h, free play, and free buffet dinner in a most beautiful setting! Enough said! (The player's club promo does change monthly -we hit a great month!)

After reading such great reviews, we thought we’d found a gem to spend a second week in the area.
Drove out to the park from our space in town two separate days to check it out. Did not waste your time.
While it’s dry camping, with no dump station on site, it’s overflowing with long timers. Several rigs appear inoperable with hoods up and many have filled campsites with excess personal items.
The few unoccupied sites near the river’s edge had laminated signs indicating they were occupied.
Between no length of stay limits and no requirements that sites actually be occupied to be rented, this park has no options or desirability.
