Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. My spot was very quiet and well spaced from other campers. Water and electric. Other sites had pull throughs and sewer. Showers required quarters to operate. All in all nicely organized and maintained. My internet was not that good but my spot was on the river and far away from the center of the campground. They also had fresh eggs for sale. $3 for a dozen.

I want to give this place credit for being open after the middle of October when so many other campgrounds had packed it in for the season. We were very grateful to have a place to hook up as we made our way across the upper Midwest after the first of November. So for that, we say, “Thank You”!
With that said, I hope that we never camp in a place like this again.
For starters, we arrived after dark and there was no map of the campground; anywhere. No map at the office where we picked up our packet and no map in our packet, as promised on line. We drove all over the campground looking for our spot. Finally we found it, on the far side of the campground where no one else was camping. Our spot was reasonably level on a crushed rock surface and our 30 amp service was fine. Problem for us was that we were literally a stones throw from the interstate. We heard the noise from the passing traffic all night long. Numerous times I heard the semi’s engine braking as they rolled past the adjacent interchange. We wanted a good nights sleep and did not get it here.

This campground is 4 years old and looks it. Hookups are new and in great shape, facilities are nice and bright, all surfaces are paved. The camping spots are wide and spacious. Shrubbery between campsites is limited. The campground is clean and Craig, the host, is very nice. WiFi was included. The town of Ashland is adjacent to the park and very nice. My only complaint might be that there are no mature trees or shrubbery. Then again the park is only 4 years old.

Also, beware of the 11’3” viaduct east of the campground on Silver St.

I stayed here two nights, the Thursday and Friday before Memorial Day. The first night in spot #215 and the Friday night in #235. Spot #215 was a grassy location on the side of a hill. A real head scratcher that that location was considered suitable for an RV. It was not the exception There were many spots just like it. I needed to stay another night and thought that would be fine if I could get a different location. They cheerfully moved me to #235, a ‘level’ gravel spot. It was much easier to back into but still had considerable slope to it.

The WiFi network was $6/day. I declined to pay for it but was able to connect to it at times anyway.
I used the laundry facility and the shower. Both we’re fine.

You do need to take a gravel road into the park. For your trouble it brings you to a lovely wooded area that is far away from traffic or railroad noises. The first night, when the campground was mostly empty, it was very peaceful. As I drove in the general area of the campground, I spotted bald eagles and wild turkeys.

I was very pleased with my stay here. Noemi could not have been nicer or more helpful. My spot was level, and quiet with excellent wireless internet. The campground was very neat and orderly. Perfect for me.

It’s very hard to have a complaint about this campground. Sure, it’s not in a National Forest but it’s clean and well cared for. It was quite for being not far from the interstate and easy to find. Perfect for someone who’s just needing a nice place to stay for the night. My gravel spot was level with water and the 30 amp service I needed.

I want to give this campground a high rating but it’s difficult. After all, they did give me a decent place to rest for the night. Thankfully I brought my own bed. The motel itself looks anything but inviting.

The campground is small, under 25 camping spots. It proudly advertises ‘full hook ups’ but that’s probably going to disappoint a lot of campers. There is 30 amp service at all the campsites but no 110 or 50 Amp plug-in options. There is water but no cable tv. There are zero air tv stations either. Both of my gravel sites were level and fairly close to the adjacent campers. I moved from my first site, #15, as it was under a tree with some dead branches and the wind was really blowing. I did not want to invite damage to my roof. It would have been very quiet in the campground if it were not adjacent to a highway and a busy railroad track. The trains loudly announce there arrival and are very long in passing through town. I would stay here again if I am just passing through the area as I am now. Otherwise I’d look for a more remote place to stay.

Seriously, this may be the best campground I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My site is gravel but quite level. Water, 30amp service, cable, and dual sewer drains. Decent spacing and lots of trees. Bathrooms are up to date and clean. Internet might be the only issue. It’s included but not always available. Everything seems well maintained. Lots of other amenities. Reasonably priced.

This cannot be anyone’s favorite campground. It’s not in an alpine meadow, it doesn’t have a view of towering snow capped mountains, nor does it sit next to a beautiful lake. If you had any of that, you’d be far from west Texas. But this is west Texas and with that fundamental, you couldn’t find a better place to stay when you’re in this area. This place is clean. It’s very well maintained. It has rock solid internet and perfectly level gravel sites to camp on. The bathrooms are clean and modern. Showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The campground staff were friendly and efficient. The worst I had was that the light/exhaust fan switches in the men’s room were in bewildering locations. In addition, my campsite did not include a picnic table. Other than that I had zero complaints. I slept great despite the fact that the campground is located between interstate 10 and an active rail line.

They were all full when I called them at the last minute after visiting Big Bend National Park (Big Bend having no vacancies now or in the foreseeable future). The got me a spot anyway in their dry camping area. My spot was fairly level and otherwise fine. The internet was fine and the people in the office could not have been nicer. You will hear train whistles from time to time but I’ve had much worse. Otherwise pretty peaceful.
