We stayed in Site 30 for a couple of days in July 2021. This was the first time here for us but it will not be the last. The sites have quite a bit of separation between them and all of them have considerable shade. Our site was on the lake edge and had easy access for the kayak. We didn't use the showers but they appeared to be very clean and in good shape. While kayaking, I noticed quite a bit of trash (bottles and cans) washed up around shore (probably debris from the boaters that frequent the area).

Even though we stayed here during a rain 36 hour rain storm, it was a very nice stay. The camp hosts greeted us very warmly and gave us detailed information about the campground. Our site (27) was a mixture of concrete and asphalt and wasn't perfectly level but close enough. We had a nice view of the lake and easy access for our kayak but I didn't get a chance to jump in because of work. The sites are nicely removed from the street (75-100') and from one another.

This is a fairly large state campground with multiple sections (2 of them on the lake). The lake area is beautiful but the park is basically falling apart. It is obvious that the state is not putting any money back into maintenance or improvements. Our back-in pad was broken up and pot-holed asphalt. The wooden stairs leading down off the RV pad were extremely old, worn, and several steps were actually broken and cracked. Even though the website and front office states that the max length of stay is 14 days, the vast majority of the campers in the park are semi-permanent to fully permanent fixtures. It was obvious that several old RVs had not rolled anywhere in years. I am giving this place two stars only because the lake is great and the park has so much promise but...

We stayed at site 13 in Nov2021. This is one of the few non-Sewer sites but it did have W/E. The campground is fantastic at least during the late fall. We've heard that the bugs are pretty bad in the warmer months. Almost all sites have some type of water frontage / access. The campground is on the Tombigbee Waterway and just above one of the dams. The are a lot of well maintained walking trails with plenty of native fauna identification signage. Just down the road at the dam there are also some additional trails with a lot of interesting plants and tree varieties. The Foscue camp hosts were extremely nice and they had firewood for sale on the honor system. The bathhouses were well maintained and clean. We will definitely stay here again while in the area.
