What can you say about a Cracker Barrel parking lot? It was a quiet enough stay even though you’re next to a road it quiets down at night. We parked over by the Wendy’s and you can use their Wi-Fi. Not a bad option if you don’t wanna park next to big rigs as you’re passing through.

It’s easy in and out, less then a half mile on a rocky road. Nice sites for RVs and campers with tables, fire pits, and shelters, 5 of each. There is a vault toilet too. Anyone who doesn’t get or want a site just parks around the edge of the campground. Got pretty full a few nights but still room. Great location to hit Carlsbad and Guadalupe NPs.

It was a well up kept campground with numerous campsites spread out in a big field. Sites had fire pits and picnic tables. Vault toilets were the cleanest I’ve ever seen. River is right there and has a river access point at far end of campground. Not a very busy area in November and the trains weren’t bad at all. If this place had drinking water it would be perfect.

This was a scenic township park that allows overnight camping. There are 2 developed areas made for smaller RVs. They both have working 30 amp plugins. There are also water spigots, but the water was off while we were here. The spots can fit a 30 foot rig if you back up over the curb. We had our trailer on and didn't want to disconnect so we parked sideways in front of 1 spot. This worked fine, there were no other campers, but the park was busy with baseball and locals coming to the pond and playground so don't block any of the roads.

The park did offer free electricity, nasty toilets, a pond with small bluegill, picnic tables and grills, a playground, a gazebo, and even a beat up tennis court. The views from the bench swing by our front door were pretty nice too.

As for getting here I suggest Clay Rd. There is a hard switch back turn this way, but our 28 foot rig pulling the car trailer made it easy enough. There is another road in just North of Clay by a tractor dealership. We tried this road first but came to a decrepit bridge that said 3 ton limit. We didn't risk it and went back to Clay Rd.

This was a nice campground that was all ours right by the Yellow River. There are 2 campgrounds at this location. There is Bayside and Bayou campgrounds. Bayside was a little busier because it is bigger, and easier access and is made for RV's and tents. The Bayou campground is only 4 sites and I think is for tents only.

Free reservations must be made for both of these campgrounds. You can go online or call in. I suggest calling cause the online system says they are all booked, but if you call in you can find openings. The lady on the phone gave me a reservation for a RV on the Bayou side, which may have been against the rules but no one said anything about it.

If you do take a RV to the Bayou side try to get site 4. The other 3 are harder to get into, specially without 4 wheel drive due to lose sand.

All in all this is a good spot. The fishing seems pretty good and like I said we had the campground to ourselves. Unfortunately they just had a controlled burn which left most the area charred. But there is hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing all right here. There is also decent cell service.

Only 3 official sites here, but a few other good pullouts to camp in. Easy access right up to the sites then some dips and rut’s to negotiate. Just about any vehicle should be able to access this area. Lots to do in the surrounding area and not very busy.

The RV area is just a slanted parking lot with no amenities but is was safe and fairly quiet. You are suppose to check in with the "transportation manager" upon arrival. They will either come up to you or you can call him. His number is on the sign as you pull in.

The casino is huge and made for a fun night of entertainment, it takes well over a hour to try and walk around it all. Lots of different shops and restaurants. There are some outdoors areas within a half hour or so. I would recommend Bluff Point State Park for a hike/bike ride. The town of Mystic is nice too.

The entire Moab area is really nice. We stayed at this camping area for so long because we had a good spot far away from anybody else. Some of the other camping areas closer to Moab get a lot more traffic.

Klondike Bluffs Road is about 16 miles from Arches National Park, and just slightly further to Moab. The road its self is pretty rocky in spots, but accessible in any vehicle, you just have to go slow in spots. It is a pretty long road with many camping areas along it. The first 8 big spots that can fit RVs got good cell reception, after that the reception got spotty. These spots were in the first 2 miles of the road, before the Klondike Bluff trail system pull off.

There are no amenities here of any kind. We filled our water tank with our 5 gallon jug that we filled every time we passed Arches National Park. There is a awesome Mountain Bike/Off Road trail system right here consisting of 57 miles of different skill level trails.

From here you could reach numerous bike trail systems, Arches NP, Colorado River, or Moab in 20 minutes. Dead Horse SP, Green River, and Canyonlands NP Island in the Sky region is about 40 minutes away.

There is so much to due in this area. We did something different everyday and there is still so much to see and do. The only reason why we left is because it's getting cold this time of year. 19 degrees at night got us on the move again.

This was a really nice well kept state run camp area, amazing that they don't charge to stay here. The camping area is a big field with a few trees scattered around. There is a nice flat section close to the horse stalls where most RV's park, there is also another large area that is on a slanted hill that is better for tents, but can work for RV's with some fancy leveling. Any size rig can easily fit, but it is a steep drive up to the grounds. Keep your eyes out for the Sugar Hill Recreation area signs off of Tower Hill Road, we missed it our first time and it made for a 15 minute steep gravel road loop around.

It is a popular area for horseback riding, most the people there had RV's and horse trailers. There are around 20 well kept horse stalls. There is also a trail system to ride or hike right there. You can mountain bike the trails as well, but you might want to run shuttle for yourself or you have to come back up the hill which is pretty steep. This is the highest point around and there is a fire tower right in the campground that anyone is allowed to climb. It is a nice spot to watch the sunset. There are also clean bathrooms with flush toilets and running water. You can fill your water tank at one of the many water spigots around the campground. The water quality was good so you might want to drive up the steep roads with a empty tank and fill up when you get there.

You have to register at a station by the bathroom. It is 3 days with no permit, 14 with permit. There is a ranger of some sort we saw everyday that tends to the area who I believe can issue permits, but he never bothered us. This is a good base to explore Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake, both 15 minutes away. Ithaca is around 45 minutes away.

Plenty of sun for solar power here. Cell reception varied. Verizon went from 2 bars 4G to nothing and AT&T had up to 2 bars 4G with our booster.

This spot was ok. Its basically a open area in the desert that had RV drivable road. As we were coming to this area we saw many spots like this one to pull off and set up camp. There are a few more spots closer to Lake Havasu City but they get busier the closer you get.

This is simple desert boondocking here. There are no amenities of any kind. And being wide open desert area it can get really windy here and hot. Access was easy enough, like I said there were lots of pull off areas East of the 95, some where easier access then others. Cell service worked fine here. Its about a 10 minute drive into town. There is also a camp host here, but don't think they really do anything. Everything seemed fair game out here. There is some traffic noise off the busy 95, but you can camp further away from the road if it bothers you.

As for activities in the area, there is lots to do here. Obviously Lake Havasu is right here so there is plenty of boating, kayaking, SUPing, fishing. There are some good hiking and okay biking trails at nearby Sara Park. If you are a ATV'er there are lots of dirt roads that head off into the desert in every direction. There is plenty of night life in town too. It was spring break while we where here so it was probably extra crazy.
