The Sno-park is located less than 1/2 mile off of the highway but is surrounded by trees to help keep the highway noise to a minimum. Take the first left off the main road (NF-5893) and cross a small bridge. The Sno-park, on the right, is a small, paved parking area with vault toilets located in the middle. You can park anywhere, but the outside edges of the parking seem to be a natural location to park. No one else was there during our October stay and there are no signs telling you how long of a stay. I'm assuming a 14 day maximum though. There are no trees lining the SW end of the parking area so the views are a little better. The road in is also paved and large rigs can easily maneuver the roads and bridge.
You can drive 1/2 mile to the Salt Creek Falls visitors area, or take a short walk as we did, to see Salt Creek Falls. The overlook is nice and there are bathrooms and information signs telling about the falls and its geography. You can also take a steep hike down to the base of the falls for a more direct view of the 2nd tallest waterfall in Oregon. Part of the trail had been damaged due to a rock slide but the trail was passable.
As I said, nothing fancy, just a parking lot, but it was relatively quiet and easy access off highway 58.

Nice management, good grocery store...big, open parking lot. Asked us to stay close to the road in the gravel section which was clean and level. The road is pretty busy but it quieted down at night, so no issues as far as noise. Lots of RV'ers, including big toy haulers, vans and 40' diesel pushers. Plenty of room.
The neighborhood behind has a nice bike path, down the road is a good laundromat...the store carries Ben & Jerrys! 🍦 and has a Glacier water station, 45 cents/gallon.

2 miles off of Highway 20, just off of Red Rock Rd., tucked into the trees are some relatively quiet, very easy-access, level boondocking spots, close to Henry's Lake and Yellowstone National Park.

The positives; it is very easy to get into...offers both shade and midday sun (plenty for our solar panels)...there was lots of wood to collect and fire rock rings scattered here and there. It's 20 minutes to the town of West Yellowstone and just less than 30 to the West entrance to Yellowstone.

We had 3 bars of Verizon without our booster going, except for one evening when it just disappeared for a bit!

The negatives; It's an open range area so you might get visitors periodically, of the bovine nature, but they are pretty friendly and mostly pass through here looking for water and shady spots. The little runoff of water running through the back end isn't what you'd want your kids to play in as it's a favorite drinking hole for the cows. And there is a off-road track that runs parallel along Red Rock Road so you will likely hear and see some 4-wheelers and motorcycles now and then, but honestly they weren't awful (and we didn't stick around during the days much).

We enjoyed our stay and will be back whenever passing through this area.

We had a good experience here! We needed a quick stop on the way from Glacier towards Idaho and we pulled into this Walmart on a Monday evening...it was already filling up with RV's! We went in an asked at the customer service desk, she was very friendly and told us to find any place we could over by the garden center, staying away from their loading docks. We found a nice level spot, their seemed to be some electrical hookups at the curbing but we were more in the middle (didn't need them, just noticed there were several RV's plugged in!)...fixed dinner and settled in. The sunset was incredible!!! There was a bit of traffic in the lot as more and more RV's pulled in and took over that south part of the parking lot, but everyone kept to themselves and it was fine! The only issue we had was that about 9 pm their parking lot cleaner came roaring through!!! He made a clean sweep around every car and truck and RV and we were concerned a couple of times that he was coming pretty close!! But no rock chips...just noisy as all heck!
We would stay here again...it felt safe and clean and not too loud. We were out by 8 am or so, after a quick grocery run, of course!

We had plans to see the BioSphere, catch a couple of women's college softball games and to revisit the Desert Museum, so we needed a spot close to Tucson. While not scenic and a little bit of road noise, it is very close to everything Tucson!

The entrances are getting pretty rutted, so check them out before you pull in...but there are lots of spots to choose from, varying degrees of level! We were traveling with family and we found spots for all three of our rigs.

Don't miss the Desert Museum...particularly the Raptor Show. And the historic El Charro restaurant is fabulous!

We actually live close by and just needed a place to hang out while doing some work on our trailer and this was a convenient place to park for a couple of days...but having lived in this area I can attest that this place, under the new management for the past few years, has improved 10 fold! It's a typical KOA, in many ways, though this one is better kept than many we have seen and is set off the road so it's fairly quiet... But they've done a lot of improvements on maintenance and security...and he's a genuinely nice guy with a lot of RV expertise! The site we had was a little tight and nothing to brag about, but he knew we just needed a quick, easy spot to park so we were fine there. There were other, bigger sites that looked nice, with some shade and updated picnic tables. Overall, a decent place to stay if you need to be in Pocatello for a few days.

I fell in love with this place on the drive down from Hood River, where you head straight towards Mt. Hood! (Turn around for the view of Mt. Adams!)
The campground itself is wooded, a beautiful river runs alongside it (it is kind of loud this time of year the people camped close to it said, but we were a few sites away and didn't hear it), large sites, clean, many are private, quiet, decent (not fabulous) bathrooms...but the best thing, for us, about it was the location! It's in a perfect spot to expore the gorge and the city of Hood River and the mountains! Just beautiful everywhere you turn!
We drove to Lost Lake one evening, hiked to Dry Creek Falls one morning, spent an afternoon watching wind surfers on the river and enjoyed a couple of local breweries! We are going back!

We lucked out and had someone who had an extra spot offer this spot up to us at the last minute and we were thrilled to be in the park! The campground is probably pretty typical of a national park, built before the rigs were very large...and while we don't feel large at 27 feet, the pull through sites are all curved, so many of them are pretty tight fits!
Ours was nestled in a little private cove of huckleberry bushes and scrubby trees (none big enough for a hammock) with no real view to speak of...but, because of the way our site was situated, we were very protected from the winds, which tended to want to kick up pretty good in the late afternoons. We had a fire ring and a picnic table, a resident bunny we saw every morning and the usual chipmunks and such...and a fairly level spot, no hookups, of course, but plenty of sunshine for our solar.
The showers in the adjacent loop were pretty clean, spacious and warm, we used them once to conserve our water!
The best thing about this campground is its proximity to the park, of course. Our favorite day we walked to the visitors center and caught one of the free shuttles (every 20 minutes or so) and shuttle hopped and hiked our way up and down the east side of Glacier. That made it very easy, stress free, and we got to see so much of the park without hassling with parking and such!
It's one of our favorite parks...we particularly love the Many Glacier area, but there, too, the sites are pretty small...and the road getting in is kind of awful!
We had pretty good cell coverage from Verizon, slower in the evenings, when everyone was back at camp!

It was a hot summer when we headed out, first towards Salmon Idaho...so we were definitely looking for shade! This small, no hookups, campground (the camp host has been here every summer for 25 years!) is well maintained and lovely, especially the spots along the river.

Okay, I say that about this spot every time we've come...pretty sure the cabin idea is a bust, but "maybe no one has asked!"

The road is definitely one way, which might be kind of tricky as you wind your way up the road...and yes, the road can be rutted, muddy, etc, particularly in the spring. And yes, it also can be quite crowded at times, but everyone seems to do their own thing and enjoy this little patch of scenic beauty mutually. There is a camp host down at the bottom of the hill at Lower Teton View, who wandered around now and then...and though we didn't see a ranger come by we were told they do, to enforce the 5 day rule.

This go around we arrived on a rainy Monday in July and found a couple of spots in the back, next to a cool skoolie, a great couple from New Mexico. On Tuesday morning, still chilly and rainy, we went on a walk and found our favorite little patch had been vacated! We took about two seconds to consider whether the hassle of hitching up and moving would be worth it...and we did, because - the view is worth it.

We stayed there for the next four nights, drove into the north end of the park several times (I might have cried a little when we realized that Dornan's was closed), enjoyed sunsets by the fire each night (mosquito spray is a must consideration)...met a nice couple from Missouri in a HUGE Class A and a fun couple from Texas (Essentially Streaming) who moved their rig the day we were leaving because, as I said, the view is worth it!
