Perfectly nice State Park with a mix of shady and sunny sites. All the sites we saw were back-in. Electric only on site but there are water spigots in the loop for filling with fresh water. There is a triple-aisle dump station but we didn't see potable water there. Garbage and recycle near each bathroom. Bathrooms were serviceable but I'm glad I have my own bathroom.

Loops D-G are the pet loops, and this is only the second time in nearly 5 years of full-timing that we were asked for a rabies certificate, so bring your paperwork!

There's a camp store and small laundromat, a big disc golf course, a large picnic area, and playground equipment scattered throughout the loops and in the picnic area. We were in a shaded site and had decent spacing from our neighbors.

Campground was quiet during the week but busy on the weekend. We'd stay here again.

Oh - our Google Fi phone has 3 bars of 4G but I'm not sure if that's T-Mobil or Sprint that it's picking up.

We did not stay at Woodchuck Flats but drove past while we were off-roading. Sites are first-come-first-served and services are vault toilets and trash/recycle only. [Although at the time of our visit on a Friday in July, trash and recycle were both full. Did not check the toilet.]

Sites are basic and are intended for tents since access is via 3 miles of dirt road.

Due to its proximity to Signal Peak (where cell towers are located), cell service is primo.

We arrived at Joshua Tree NP on the weekend and found all of the campgrounds full. The Ranger gave us a flyer showing BLM camping locations just outside the south entrance to the Park (photos attached). Although the BLM camping is most of an hours' drive away from the Joshua Trees themselves and most hiking in the NW corner of the Park we would definitely stay here again. Unlike the RV sites inside the Park, there is plenty of room to spread out here on BLM land and the speed of Verizon internet made working and streaming online a breeze (AT&T signal was strong, but speeds were lackluster. There is NO cell signal inside most of the Park.). At the time of our visit, the access road had been recently graded and provided easy access for even large RVs. If you have an off-road capable vehicle, there are multiple trails in the southern portion of the Park, with easy access from this site. Cottonwood Campground is just 15 minutes away (inside the Park) and you can dump and fill with freshwater for $5. We were initially disappointed that I-10 was so close, but cannot hear any traffic noise here and the lights at night are strangely mesmerizing - like watching fish in an aquarium. We too had a couple of nights of high wind (gusts in the 40's, possibly higher) but repositioned the RV into the wind and weren't bothered by it.

Pluses: large free sites, blazing fast Verizon internet, close to cheap dump/fill, fairly close to shopping.

Negatives: sites not very level, long drive to attractions inside Joshua Tree NP, windy.

We chose this campground in an attempt to avoid Labor Day crowds because it was away from everything. If that's what you're looking for, this is a great spot! 6 of the 18 spots were empty over the Labor Day weekend. There are a few places you can access the Sturgeon River, site 2 being one of them.

Sites are gravel & grass and are fairly level. The only amenities are fire rings, garbage, pit toilets, and a hand pump for water. The little town of Wolverine has a post office and a small market, but if you want to do a big grocery shop Indian River is your best bet. There is a "rails to trails" bike path in front of the campground and you can easily ride your bike into Wolverine. Internet was fast enough for streaming video.

This is a State DNR campground, which requires a "Passport" fee for your vehicle ($9/day or $31 for an annual pass for out-of-state vehicles in 2016), so if you're planning to visit MI state parks for more than 3 days then buying the annual pass will save you money.

We stayed here for 4 days while exploring the Whitefish Point area. Nice wooded sites, sandy lakeshore with swimming area. Water, pit toilets and garbage disposal are the only amenities. If you depend on solar, there are a few sites that are sufficiently clear to charge panels. We were able to make do by deploying our portable panel and moving it around throughout the day.

This is a State DNR campground which requires you to purchase a "Passport" ($9/day or $31 for an annual pass for out-of-state vehicles in 2016). The Passport is required at all Michigan DNR or State Parks, so if you're planning to be in the State for more than 3 days it makes sense to purchase an annual.

Beautiful, large private sites at this campground. You can hardly see your neighbors through the trees! Park has a mix of reservable and non-reservable sites. Sites do not have power or water, but have picnic tables and fire rings. The campground has a dumpster and there are several clean pit toilets throughout. There is a boat ramp and a nice 2-mile loop hiking trail. It is a half-hour trip to get to a decent-sized town (Munising) for a grocery store.

Verizon speeds were very good, but AT&T was non-existent, even with a booster.

Cliffside is a very nice park maintained by Racine County. The sites are very large, with nice fire rings, newer picnic tables & electric pedestals, and new water service at the time of our visit (July 2016). Grounds are immaculately maintained.

Sites 1-41 are first-come, first served and reservable, sites 42-92 are reservable (there is a $12 non-refundable reservation fee) and there are a few group campsites as well. I did not see any pull-through sites though. There's a hiking trail with a view of Lake Michigan, and a softball field in the picnic area.

Very convenient to Racine or south Milwaukee.

We've stayed in some gorgeous ACOE campgrounds with full amenities: Giles French is not one of those. This is basic parking lot camping, but nicer than WalMart due to the views of the Columbia River and that it has plenty of room to spread out. If you just need a spot to overnight, access from I84 is quick and easy. On the night of our stay, there appeared to be several long-term residents (despite the 14-day advertised stay limit) and there were piles of trash in a few places. We did not check out any of the bathroom facilities. A dumpster is located at the boat ramp. There is some highway and train noise (a track beside I84 and one on the opposite side of the river) but there are no train crossings, meaning we did not hear any whistles. We didn't find either the highway or the trains to be intrusive.

Lake Spaulding is owned by PG&E. We scouted the campground but did not stay here because there is no cell service on either Verizon or AT&T. The campground is suited to very small rigs and trailers due to a narrow twisty road and trees growing close to the edge of the road. There were 3 RVs camping in the boat trailer parking area (in spite of signs that said no camping allowed) and there appeared to be a campground host here as well. I would check with the host before setting up here.

There are all sorts of day use, boat ramp and pet fees in addition to the campground rate - check attached photo.

The park is located right on the banks of the Menominee River, with great access to Menominee, MI and Marinette, WI. It is impeccably maintained by the City and has great green spaces (playground, picnic shelter, gazebo, etc.) but the sites are small and there is no privacy. There are a few pull-through sites. Monthly rates are available. Park is open May - September. There's a marina next door if you have a boat.
Positives:
Shopping plaza with grocery store, K-Mart, post office, etc. within easy biking distance. Paved, full hook-up sites. Large shower building has individual shower rooms - very clean. River is pretty if you can get a river-adjacent site. Staff is very friendly & helpful.
Negatives:
Small sites. Some road noise. There is a train track 50 yards from the park but it is a siding - no whistles and we only saw trains once/day; however, the main track is across the highway and you can hear whistles from it.
