The Big Tesuque campground has 10 first-come-first-served tent sites, all within hearing distance of 2 beautiful mountain streams and all fairly level. The mountain views, cool temps, and the rushing stream were pretty idyllic. A few of the sites will accommodate a 6-person tent, but most sites are more suitable for up to 4-person tents. The campground has picnic tables, fire rings, pit toilets and garbage cans. I would have given it 4 stars but cell coverage was spotty and very slow and that's a critical item for us.

If tent camping, you will need to park you car in the parking lot and carry all your gear to your site. Sites 1-5 are on the northern or uphill side of the campground, and sites 6-10 are on the southern or downhill side. There are streams running on each side of the campground and the noise of the rushing water does a great job of masking road noise. The campground was very clean at the time of our visit (June 2017).

There is one parking spot in front of site 6 (on the downhill side of the campground) that is very long. We were able to park our 29-foot Class A RV in the spot with our Jeep parked in front of it; however, the parking is sloped so we were not able to quite level the rig front-to-back, even using jack pads. Although a longer RV would fit in the spot I'm not sure you could safely level it. We did use the picnic table and fire ring from site 6, which is immediately behind the parking spot. Over the course of our stay we were joined by a small Class B van which solved the leveling problem by parking parallel to the wall (note: the parking lot gets busy on Saturday and VERY busy on Sunday, so you wouldn't want to park this way on the weekend).

Cell coverage was barely workable, in spite of our phones telling us we had 4G coverage. Even with a booster, the Verizon phone sometimes couldn't even sustain a phone conversation. AT&T coverage with the booster was workable for data but NOT for streaming.

We really wanted to love this campground. It's clean, picnic tables and grills are nice, and it's relatively close to Yosemite National Park. But in the end this campground operates by remote control as an afterthought to the nearby Pine Mountain Lake facility and it seems like they didn't really put much thought into designing it. A camp host would resolve a lot of their issues, but there wasn't one as of July 2017.

If you have made a reservation, you don't need to stop at the main gate and can go directly to your site at the campground. If you want to extend your stay or if you are driving in without a reservation, you need to go to the main gate of the resort to pay (which is inconvenient since it's 2.4 miles away). There is an iron ranger at the entrance but it was taped over at the time of our visit with instructions to either call or go to the main gate. We tried calling but were told they were too busy to take the information so we'd have to drive up to the resort.

Campsites are cut into a steep hill which gives you some privacy from the neighbors but can make backing into your site challenge. In addition, most of them are pretty unlevel which I find a little strange. If you're going to cut campsites into a hill using a bulldozer, why not take 5 more minutes and make them level? Most of the sites are also narrow, and only a few RV sites are long enough for big rigs. We used the website photos to select our campsite, only to arrive and find that it didn't look anything like the picture on the website, so beware there. RV sites have water and both 50 & 30 amp service, but there are no sewer hookups. The dump station is at the end of the loop and is normally locked. You need to dial *81 and the security guard will come and unlock it for you. This can take 5+ minutes. In addition, the entrance and exit are steep and the line-of-sight on departure from the dump station is pretty terrible for seeing if another vehicle is coming. Oh - and the main road through the campground has a steep hill: the towbar on our 29' Class A drug at the bottom and there are deep gouges in the asphalt from other rigs dragging.

There is a huge loop for tent camping but we didn't explore it. The bathhouse in the tent loop has the only showers in the campground (although there is another bathroom near the group sites at the dump station). My niece used the shower and described it as "menh." There are garbage and recycle bins at regular intervals and the campground is kept very clean.

The site has "passable" Verizon coverage but not AT&T service. Although our Verizon showed 3 bars of 4G it was difficult to make voice calls (had to go outside & stand on the picnic table bench). Data was better but wasn't fast until we turned on our booster. NOTE: We were in site 1 at the top of the hill. Service deteriorates as you get toward the bottom of the hill.

There is a pretty good grocery store about 3 miles away, a YART bus stop about 3.5 miles away, and Groveland is a cute little town.

We would theoretically stay here again if we needed to be close to Yosemite, but other than that I'd skip it.

We don't typically stay in RV Resorts, but there aren't many options in Punta Gorda. The Park is a mix of transient sites and park-model housing. The full hook-up sites here are decent but a bit tight. This shouldn't be a problem since most seem to be pull-through sites, but a car was partially blocking our site so we couldn't pull through. This meant we had to circle the block (one-way streets) and back in, which was pretty challenging since the streets are very narrow and there was a vehicle (legally parked and off the street) across from us. We had to pull up & back up four times to make the angle into the site. I would say this is a pretty typical problem in the Park since we noted numerous vehicles partially or completely blocking RV sites over the 3 days we were here. I would have given the Park 4 stars except for this.

The Park has a nice pool area, a shuffleboard court, etc. Everything seemed well maintained.

Hobuck Beach has 2 camping areas: an open field for dispersed tent or dry camping ($20/night) and 10 full hook up sites for RVs ($30/night) about 1/4 mile down the road from the dispersed camping area. We stayed in a full hook-up site with a beautiful ocean view. Sites are a little close for our liking but everything was well maintained. Nearby Neah Bay is small, so if you're looking for lots to do in town this isn't the place for you. Lots of hiking & beach combing though. The highway to Neah Bay is narrow & twisting without shoulders in many places, so larger rigs need to exercise care. No AT&T service here, but Verizon 4G LTE was strong, with 24.14 Mbps down & 17.71 up. Park WiFi is free but signal strength varies with your location. The campground & Neah Bay are within Makah Tribal Lands, and we were also required to purchase a $10 vehicle pass for our towed.

I really wanted to love this park - it's a bargain, it's clean, it's pretty, it has a couple of laundry machines, but in the end we were so annoyed by our neighbors' fire pit that it over-shadowed all that. The campground loop was tight and I didn't look at every site, but our and the one next to us had fire pits that were way too close to the next site. Our neighbors had a fire both nights and their pit was only 7 feet away from our window. We had to close all the windows on that side of the rig and if they had been loud talkers we'd have heard every single word. Lots of the campers here came with boats on trailers and I suspect the campground pushed the rings out to the edge of the sites to make extra room to park, but it really isn't a good design.

In addition, there's no information posted on how or where to check in when you arrive. We pulled in after dark and had to wander around until we found the camp host.

Tent campers will appreciate that the tent sites are separated from the RV sites by the bathhouse and day-use area, which will reduce noise from air conditioners and such.

We camped here over Easter Weekend in 2017. Despite the holiday weekend the 20-site campground was never full and there were no loud rowdy campers!

18 of the sites are reservable and 2 are walk-up. There is also a group site. All 20 sites have concrete pads (most looked level), water & power, a fire pit and a grill. The first 14 sites or so are lakefront sites. Several will accommodate larger rigs and many are pull-thru. Access from the highway is via a hard-packed dirt road but it was very smooth at the time of our visit. There is self check-in via an Iron Ranger and payment may be via check or cash.

We loved the view of the little lake and the fact that most of the sites are nicely spaced for elbow room. The day use area was crowded on Easter Sunday but is far enough away from our site that we hardly heard a peep.

Bathrooms are located in the day use area, so if you're tent camping you may want to choose a low-numbered site for easier access. There's one handicapped bathroom with shower, and a non-handicapped shower as well (which was being re-tiled at the time of our visit). The bathrooms weren't the cleanest or prettiest that I've seen but were serviceable. The remainder of the park is immaculate.

The Pine Log National Forest is cris-crossed with hiking and biking trails that you could spend days exploring. There are also a few sandy roads for off-road licensed vehicle access (no ATVs allowed) but aside from a few deeper sandy spots and some shallow creek crossings there's nothing exciting about them. Pretty pinewoods, but not exciting.

The west end of Panama City Beach is an easy 20-minute drive.

All in all we were very pleasantly surprised by this pretty little campground and were thrilled at how peaceful it was over a holiday weekend. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a small park with only 32 primitive sites. Both the access road and most of the sites are not trimmed well enough for RV access - we had difficulty getting our 12' high rig in. Many of the sites are also small & were clearly designed with tent campers in mind.

The park has some pretty hiking trails - especially the one along the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.

There is a single bathhouse and a single potable water spigot, but you'll need a long hose to reach it if you're in an RV. There is no dump station.

If you don't need the internet for work and you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you! There are several lake-front sites with beautiful views. The remainder of the sites are nicely wooded and shady. If you rely on solar power, it will be challenging here unless you have a portable panel. Mosquitoes were abundant. Both the entrance road and the campground loop road had a few low-hanging limbs that were challenging in our 12' tall rig - fivers should definitely beware. We were here in mid-August, so perhaps they are trimmed only in the spring?

We really wanted to stay here, but even though our AT&T phone showed 2 bars of 4G on the booster, we were unable to get an internet connection.

I can't add much to the great review that Big Big Trippers wrote. This County Park is indeed a diamond in the rough. We arrived late on a Friday but were still able to get a site. The younger gentleman in the office allowed us to stay in a tent site (no hookups at all) but we were later told by the full-time camp host that this usually isn't allowed. We picked the site because it had great views of the saltmarsh and we could get level in this site: many of the sites will require some ingenuity in order to level. If you have blocks or 4 stabilizer jacks it will be easier to level on the hillside (we have a 3-jack tripod arrangement, which makes front-to-back leveling easier than side-to-side).

The Park was spotless and well-maintained. Because it has a boat ramp, there will definitely be some noise from airboat launching & retrieval. It's not too bad because it doesn't last too long, but if you want to sleep late you can forget about it at this park!

Although we were here in April, bugs really weren't an issue and the breeze off the marsh was nice.

There's nothing around for miles but saltmarsh and trees, and every night we were serenaded by owls. A short drive to the end of the road will let you walk out on the pier at the Shell Mound Archaeological Site for some great birding opportunities, and there's also a nature trail. It's a short drive to hiking or biking in the Cedar Key Scrub Wildlife Refuge or the Lower Suwanee Wildlife Refuge. A 15 minute drive will get you to Cedar Key.

Cell service was minimal but with our booster we were able to stream a movie.

An well-maintained ACOE park along the shore of Buggs Island Lake. We stayed here in late October as the park was getting ready to close for the season and it was mostly empty. There is a day use area with picnic shelters, playground, and a roped-off swimming area. There are several campground loops spread along the shoreline. Sites were mostly level and raked and most were spacious. Even the non-shoreline sites in our loop had lake views and all sites had full or partial shade. All sites had a fire pits with grills, and poles with lantern hooks. Sites are water and electric only. There is a dump station.

There's a boat ramp adjacent to the campground and there is trailer parking inside the campground if you need it. People with boats in the water anchored or tied-off their boats at their campsite. Waterfront sites on hillsides have nice timber and gravel steps leading down to the water.

There are large centralized bathhouses and there's at least one pit toilet on every loop. We did not check out the bathhouse, but peeked in a pit toilet which was clean and well-supplied.

It's just a short drive to nearby Clarksville for shopping and restaurants. There's a fairly new (in 2016) Food Lion grocery store, some cute local shops, and other small-town fare.

Cell coverage was spotty around the campground. Our Verizon showed 4G coverage but we needed the booster to get a good enough signal to work. AT&T was not usable at our site but appeared decent in other parts of the park.
