Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 10, 2019This is a pretty municipal campground, conveniently located about half way on our drive from Traverse City, Michigan to Minneapolis. The location, behind a Kmart, is a bit bazaar, but the physical setting on the river is quite nice. Check-in was easy since we had already reserved and paid. It’s surprising how difficult it is to make a reservation there. You can’t do it online – you must fill out a paper form and mail it in with a check. We had to call to confirm we had a reservation. The office was not occupied when we arrived at 1:05 pm, but someone showed up a couple of minutes later. Roads are a bit tight but navigable. Many seasonals but sites were tidy. There are mature trees throughout the park so plenty of shade. We were not able to use our rooftop satellite antenna, but we were able to place our portable antenna at the rear of the coach to receive all three Dish western arc satellites. We spent one night in site 44, a pull-through site that was just barely long enough for our 38’ coach plus 2-door Jeep toad. It was level, and I would estimate the length of the site to be about 57 feet. Not sure why other reviewers have stated there is 50 amp power – there’s not. Power was stable, we did not use the sewer connection, and the water pressure was adequate. However, the water was a bit cloudy, and the WiFi was poor. There is a municipal sewerage plant next door, but we did not smell it. There is grass everywhere, but there is also goose poop almost everywhere. No enclosed dog park, but plenty of places to walk the dog. Our site was within 75 yards of Highway 41 where it climbs to go over the bridge over the Menominee River, so the road noise was constant.
The park is located right on the banks of the Menominee River, with great access to Menominee, MI and Marinette, WI. It is impeccably maintained by the City and has great green spaces (playground, picnic shelter, gazebo, etc.) but the sites are small and there is no privacy. There are a few pull-through sites. Monthly rates are available. Park is open May - September. There's a marina next door if you have a boat.
Positives:
Shopping plaza with grocery store, K-Mart, post office, etc. within easy biking distance. Paved, full hook-up sites. Large shower building has individual shower rooms - very clean. River is pretty if you can get a river-adjacent site. Staff is very friendly & helpful.
Negatives:
Small sites. Some road noise. There is a train track 50 yards from the park but it is a siding - no whistles and we only saw trains once/day; however, the main track is across the highway and you can hear whistles from it.

This is a great little city park! I made a reservation a few weeks in advance by sending in the form on the web site, no deposit or credit card needed. They confirmed with a voice message. The day of I let them know I'd be a late arrival and they said no problem and gave me my site number. We arrived about 9PM. Signs and GPS pointed the way in. You have to loop behind a K-Mart and cross train tracks but no big deal. The place was totally full but QUIET, perhaps a couple of campers out by their fires. The campground has water on 3 sides, one being the Menominee River. The bridge crossing the river and an inlet with train tracks on the other 2. Noise was really not an issue. Sites are all paved with modern hookups, clean picnic table and fire ring. Tall trees throughout the campground are set between each site on a generous groomed lawn. Very clean buildings and big play area (didn't see many kids). Many pull-thru sites - several big rigs were here plus smaller trailers. The hidden secret may be the cute secluded camp sites behind the play area. The quaint restored waterfront downtown is worth seeing too.

Closed - flooded sites
This park is very well maintained with very neat trimmed trees and landscape. It's mostly shaded with level paved and long sites. We had water and electric at site. There is not a lot of separation between sites. When you have all RVs backed into each other and one family has a party taking over everything, that's a lot to overlook. Also, this park is on river but also at the bridge; a very noisy busy bridge. You can walk to the supermarket from this park which was handy. Very convenient to the towns in WI and MI.

Nice place, clean and spacious spots. Nice waterside. Close to groceries.
Nothing else around here to see but can be a relaxing spot if you need it. It is a bit noisy as you are next to the bridge and road.

Facilities are clean. However, there is no washing facilities or grills grates to cook over fire. You have to go to Jack’s Laundromat which is nearby. The staff is not overly friendly. They did not acknowledge quests as we have seen in other locations. On a positive though, the grounds are well kept, asphalt pads with electrical and water. You are about 45 minutes south of Escanaba. Right across bridge from WI.
