Better than OK. Friendly, affordable, accommodating, convenient place to stop through for a single night. Called ahead and they had our info ready for an after-hours check in. Nothing fancy, but a nice level, gravel spot that made it easy to quickly set up what we needed in the dark, freezing, snowy weather.

Super easy and friendly check in — called ahead and they said they’d wait for us to arrive before closing the office — and then they drove us to our site since it was so dark. There was a herd of deer on the other side of the fence when we pulled into our spot and one that got separated pranced right in front of our truck when we parked. The park looks beautiful and I’d love to come back in the summer. We visited late March just passing through, arrived late and hurried out in the morning because of a snow storm. Seemed pretty peaceful and was surprisingly quiet though.

Stayed one night while traveling west. Easy to set up for an after-hours arrival. Clean, level PT site. Full hookup worked great. 4 stars only because of surrounding noise. Otherwise great.

f I could leave a review for just the service, I'd give 5 stars. Thelma was amazing!!! The friendliest and most helpful camp host I've interacted with on this roadtrip (Day 17). The camp layout is interesting; it's set up as a lot of back-ins, which is all you'll see if you try to book online. I ended up calling instead since we were pretty close and since they weren't full, Thelma set us up as a pull-through spanning 2 sites. The only drawback and reason for 4 stars is the entire park gently slopes. You enter driving down hill and the hill just kind of keeps going through to the back of the park. We had a really hard time getting our travel trailer level in the gravel and eventually gave up and just settled with being a bit off kilter for the night.

As far as the facilities, on the plus side they are definitely new and pretty clean. As an update to some of the previous reviews: the fitness center is set up and the game room is now open, with a pool table and TV. They may get shuffleboard soon. The club house is large with a full kitchen available to all guests.

There is a laundry room with 3 sets of machines. One set was out of order but we used the other two and they worked great; decent size and everything dried without needing extra time. Note that the laundry is coin operated, quarters only, but there is no machine to convert bills to change; I was able to buy $5 worth of quarters from Thelma though.

The showers are decent, but lacking shelving or benches or anywhere convenient to place your towel, clothes, etc. There's only one hook attached to the back of the door by an adhesive strip, which I didn't trust to hold my fold-out toiletry bag, and was too far away from the shower to put my towel, so I got creative with using the toilet seat and the accessibility handle bars.

Overall, it's a new, clean, welcoming park, but there are definitely opportunities for improvement.

Pretty pricey for a single night ($90-ish with tax). Inconvenient to access (1.3mi u-turn if approaching from north, southbound) maybe because of construction but also maybe the roads are just like that? Clean and organized but very loud. Very clear instructions for entering after hours, but the exit gate stayed open all night so not as secure as we expected. No vending machines or anything to buy essentials after hours so we walked to a local convenience store and the community felt a bit sketchy, especially at night. Washers cost $2 per load, bathhouse has about a dozen individual toilet + shower stalls. It smelled terrible but looked clean. Didn’t use pool, fitness center, or dog park but they look great. Could be a good choice if you care about being near the city and some extra amenities.

Made a reservation online while en route and followed instructions to call and let them know we’d be arriving after hours. They hadn’t received our reservation and it turned out the camp isn’t officially open for the season yet (we stayed mid March) but they were really friendly and accommodating. They told us how to access in a roundabout way, which was easy enough to follow but there’s no way we would’ve figured it out if we hadn’t called first. I told them which site I’d reserved (20amp PT) and they offered 2 alternates due to construction happening in the park and said we could park wherever and to make ourselves at home. We basically upgraded our site for free (50amp)! The only drawbacks were arriving at night to a muddy camp with construction zones that were a bit difficult to see and navigate. The women’s bathroom was clean enough - it looked like it had recently been upgraded but as affordably as possible and wasn’t quite done being updated. I’d love to come back when the weather is nicer and the construction is done because it seems like there’s a lot of potential for it to be an awesome spot to camp for a few days.

Convenient quick stop with friendly staff, clean and mostly level site. Trains are pretty consistent throughout the night but I only heard one honk its horn late at night. Otherwise, it was pretty easy to sleep through it and I’m not a heavy sleeper. Didn’t have time to use any of the facilities. Hookup was standard and easy to use, located in the center of the site so you can access by pulling in from either direction. We ended up adjusting how we parked to make sure our cord reached but it ended up being fine; a standard extension cord should work no matter how/where you pull in.

Called while on the road to make a reservation for the night and the man who answered wasn’t overly friendly but he was succinct and accommodated our requests for a pull through a bit removed from the road due to noise (traveling with a baby). We informed him we’d be arriving late, around 9pm. He said they close at 7pm but would leave all the info for us at our site. We arrived a bit earlier than expected but followed his instructions to easily find our site. Our receipt was there along with a hand-written note including the bathroom lock code and a request to disconnect water since it’d get near freezing that night. The only issue I had was that the rules said dogs are not allowed on the grass, which he didn’t mention when I said on the phone that we have 2 dogs. Our dogs are trained to use the bathroom in grass, so it would’ve been helpful to know that ahead of time so we could’ve planned a stop for them. Overall, it was a convenient, clean, well-organized site for a quick overnight.

Stayed one night passing through. Called after hours to confirm availability and they were very pleasant and helpful, and took payment by phone before assigning us a spot that they reserve for travelers passing through like us. It’s pricey for one night but we got a nice river view spot even though we didn’t stay long enough to really enjoy it. Could still hear some highway noise at night. Showers were clean (minus a few spiders that surprised me when I opened the curtain - one dropped into my hair, another scurried to my towel and a few others just waited for me to step inside) and the water pressure and temp were great!
