Some of the reviews posted are from people who have not even stayed here. The location is usually 100% booked and they do not do nightly or weekly rentals because of how popular the location is. Sometimes they have a slot open and can take you on a monthly rental . If you do plan ahead then you can enjoy a great location next to a fun little town of Idaho Springs and easily make trips to Breckinridge, Loveland, etc, Escape the summer heat!

Stayed 1 night on a waterfront site. Bugs were not bad at all compared to others I have stayed at close by. Vault toilets, lake access for boats. Would certainly stay again & $17 per night

The green grass in the other photos is now gone and it is dirt. Showers and toilets need cleaning. It is a beach campground so you are in a parking lot, meh 🤷♂️

I wouldn’t say the views are spectacular when you have the Grand Tetons close by which are…I would say the campground is fine with nice views. There are only a few spots that have shade and the rest are pretty open to sun and view of others. Spacing is ok…not packed but not dispersed. No cell service with Verizon. The road coming in is currently being paved so you may have a slight delay. Fishing from shore was not worth it as it is very shallow by the shoreline.

Closed due to rockslide…hope it will reopen
July 31st and the flies are really horrible. There isn’t shade to find here but you can be lake side. We relocated away from the lake to see if the flies would be better but they were all over.

We drove out of our way to camp here based on the 5 star reviews…sorry but it isn’t a 5 star area. I guess it is all relevant based on where we have camped before. The other reviewers are speaking of one campsite I believe..#13? Otherwise we could not get next to the river or creek. The 1st sites are basically in a parking lot and the others are off a gravel area. Trash and toilet paper were all about. We left.

I originally had site 16 but it is really sloped for even a class B rv. Site drops 20 inches so hard even with leveling blocks. All sites along the ocean are great with 22 & 21 my favorite. They are level there as well (mostly). Host was great. Campers where also great and got together to watch the sunset. I posted a few site photo’s to help with your picking of a site.
