Overnighted here on my motorcycle. Nice flat area to camp and the town of Geneseo is not far away for a great dinner at the Geneseo brewery. That being said, I camped here in June and the misquotes and ticks were out in abundance woke up to having them crawling on my legs and one biting the back of my head. The trains run at 12:30 and 02:30 am so bring earplugs because they sound like they are coming right through the campsite. For a quick overnight camp though it was ok but be aware of the the ticks and trains. No one came through to collect my 8 dollar fee which was nice.

I stayed here for 1 night on my trek home to Colorado from Michigan on my motorcycle. The staff was great and they have an area just for motorcycles! It has covered parking for your bike and a really nice area with a fireplace and a good grassy area to set up your tent. I would highly recommend this campground for motorcycle travelers because this area is only for motorcycles and you don’t share it with regular campers. You have access to the showers and bathrooms and fresh water and the rate was affordable. Highly recommend this campground.

Just went down there today. There are some spots before you get into the burn area but most campgrounds and camping spots are closed

Stayed here for 1 night on my way through on my motorcycle. Access was actually really easy and there were some decent spots to tent up for the night. There is a decent amount of truck traffic as you are right by an on ramp to I-80 but it’s negligible. Lots of people there during the day into the evening but it gets better through the night. Good place to overnight if you are just pushing through. Lots of mosquitoes due to it being by the water so make sure to bring bug spray. But there were hundreds of fireflies as well which was very cool. Just be aware that the weather in summer can change on a dime and get really bad really quick.

We have been coming back to this campground for years. It’s very quiet and the views are so great! La Plata park right in your front yard! Great fishing all over. Depending on the time of year it does get pretty chilly at night.

We stayed for 3 nights in august. The campground itself is nice, clean bathrooms, full hookups, large campsites. But my god it was like staying in the bowls of hades. 105 degrees everyday. No shade at all. And the biting flies were really bad. All in all I think that if we were to come in October or early in March it would be a great place to camp. They are very strict with the leash policy for dogs which is a very good thing.
