Warren Dunes is a quiet state park on the west coast of Michigan. The semi-modern campsites only have electric hook-up but are well shaded and about double the size you will get at a typical campground.

The private showers and restroom were kept well and the water was hot with great pressure even after waiting in line.

It is a mile walk along the trail to the beach which is awesome and the dunes are also fun. The sunsets are almost worth the trip.

The campground was only mildly busy and there was a fairly even split between RVs and tent campers. The sites are hit/miss during heavy rain. Our site was mostly dry but some sites were covered in 1-2 inches of water.

We had a good stay visiting Mary Baldwin college in the winter. There was never more that about 15 other rigs here and that counts the over-nighters. We stayed for 3 days. The campground is nestled in the hills so it looks beautifully with the pond in the middle. The camp store was closed on the weekend but we didn’t have a problem getting to our site since we booked online and didn’t need to stop. The Wi-fi was strong enough to use our smart TV on. Probably helped that there were not a lot of other campers using it. There is another campground near Stanton but they have terrible wi-fi and no cell reception. Both were good here. The staff was nice and everything was well kept. There is a mix of sites here with a lot that don’t have sewer. We stayed in 625 which was a pull-through with full hook-ups.

We had a great time during our short stay here. This was our 2nd Jellystone experience and it didn’t disappoint. This one is huge with multiple parks, tons of activities, and an awesome pool with water slides. There were a lot of cabins and golf carts zooming around but we didn’t see any long term campers. The wi-fi was nearly non-existent near our site but we had 2 bars of T-Mobile which was just enough to do a little work each morning. There are also some fun local attractions near by. Zip-lining is right next to the park and Luray Caverns is less than 10 min down the road and a HUGE local attraction. We will probably be back. The kids had a great time. It isn’t easily accessible from any major highways and it is nestled in the Shenandoah valley between the mountains but that is what makes the location so great.

Not a bad stay overall. We stayed 7-9 July 2023 for $113.40 per night (5 of us). The road there from the highway is curvy and hilly if you come in from the west. It is about 10 minutes from the highway. If you are heading in from the east (we left to the east) you will encounter some twisty-turny mountain passes, so beware.
The positives: lots to do. Tubing or just chilling in the James River; pool is inviting even if a bit small for the size of the campground; splash pad was a hit; the water slides were open and fast; the lake/pond was warm but the inflatable obstacle course is no longer there; fishing pond was busy; arcade was well used; plus more. Also it isn’t far from the local attractions. Definitely recommend the safari park.
The negatives: sites were tight. We were in L3. It was paved but between sites was gravel so we had to walk a bit for the pups; the internet never worked and had practically no cell reception. Internet worked in the lodge but not at the sites.
Was great to get the kids off the devices though.

We stayed here over the Veterans Day weekend. The camp was less than 20% full. The only spots full were along the beach/dune. The staff was great. I must have booked the wrong site on the KOA app (sometimes the book button above/below where you pick the site can be confusing I guess) because I thought we were on the beach but I booked a premium site instead which is about $10 cheaper. When we arrived and were checking in the staff gave us a beach-front site without charging us more. The pool is open all year but not heated but the hot tub is huge and the whole family enjoyed it. The campground is located in the center of the outer banks so it is great for checking out the islands. You can’t beat the beach access and the KOA is well taken care of with good bathrooms, playgrounds, and dog park. The sites are all paved or gravel and mostly level. With descent WiFi and cable. We were pleased and will come back.

Cool park with a lot to do nestled in a valley along a “lazy” river. Tubing the river is a premier activity (tube rental is $10). There are rabbits all over the place. WiFi is spotty but does exist. Cell reception in the valley is expectedly weak so don’t expect to be on your phone during your stay. Pool looked inviting and the trout in the stocked pond were descent size. Full hook-up sites are at a premium but they all have electric and water. Sites are a bit tight but not terrible. The park had a lot of visitors during the week but filled up Friday nite. The campers seemed to be having a great time. Overall we had a good stay and would stay again. It was only $47 a night for our back-in W/E site.

Nice clean little campground close to a lot of area attractions. Shenandoah Caverns is a half mile away. Luray and Skyline Dr are 20 min away. The sites are gravel and fairly level with descent spacing. Kids loved the pool and the staff was super friendly. We stayed Memorial Day weekend and they had scheduled events all weekend. It is also very close to the highway. There are also a few small cabins to stay in if you have a bigger crew and want to stretch out. The other campers were great, quiet and friendly.
Negatives: Proximity to highway makes it a little loud. Kids didn’t complain and we slept well so it wasn’t that bad. No shade. The hook-ups at some sites are farther than others. We had to keep trailer further forward in spot to reach but the staff offered extensions which was nice. The cable was fuzzy but I don’t know if it was them or us because we didn’t use it that much and didn’t check our connection at all.
Overall it was a good stay and we would stay if in this area again.

This a great campground/water park for a fairly reasonable cost. The park is clean and the pool is huge with a water slide, obstacle course and diving platform. The pool depth is 0-12 feet with wade-in shallow end which is great for the little ones. The pool can get busy as it is open to the public for a cost. The mini golf course is also top notch and free with stay. The general store and snack bar/ice cream shop was also very affordable. This was our first Jellystone experience. We stayed 2 nights one weekend then 2 nights the next as this park is roughly between DC and Chicago which is basically our trip and we like to break up the driving. The first weekend much of the park including the park was a muddy mess after a long period of rain. It mostly dried up for the next weekend. The RV parking spots were mostly dry and are gravel and quite level. We didn’t need to level any wheels on the first site and only very little on second site. There were also lots of activities including an exotic pet show, science show, crafting, Yogi experience, fire truck rides and more. The kids loved all the activities (we have 4 kids).

The park was quiet and friendly. We stayed over Christmas and the other campers were very festive. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It is close to Kennedy Space Center and you can watch cruise ships launch. It seemed like a few campers may have parked their rigs and went on the cruise. The cost of our full hook-up concrete site was $73 per night after tax. The grass sites on the West side of the park had a ton more room but ours was fine. The WiFi was slow or non-existent probably due to a lot of use. Our T-Mobile only had 1-2 bars and was useless wit one bar, ok with 2. My work Verizon phone had 3-4 bars and worked great.

Nice little park. Cheap and full hookups. The sites are large with plenty of parking. Only one pull through but plenty of room for big rigs. WiFi was spotty but worked sometimes. Best place to stay for MCRD graduations.
