We really loved our stay here. This was literally our first ever road trip in our newly remodeled 1993 Motorhome Class C. The staff was incredibly friendly, the general store was fully stocked (they even had diapers and wipes!), the bathrooms/showers were clean (especially considering the number of campers they have there on a daily basis), the other RVers were sociable and eager to help, the pool was ok, the playground was a big hit with our two kids (ages 6 and 3), and the river/waterfall was AWESOME. We stayed here toward the end of July and the weather was perfect. All the campsites were shaded and kept us comfortable. We barely used our AC. Our kids made friends easily and we wished we could have stayed longer. Our next visit will definitely be for more than one night. Our ONLY complaint, and I feel like this is an issue that management has little control of, would be the few campers who made the campground appear trashy. I feel like that sounds so rude of me, but I'm not sure how else to word it. What I mean by this is there were a few people who were obnoxious with little care for those in their vicinity, swimming in jeans and t-shirts in the pool, cursing loudly, and then using an inflatable air mattress instead of the camp's tubes to float down the river. I would say that 95% of the campers were genuinely nice and all there for the same reasons - to get away peacefully, so the few that were otherwise didn't exactly ruin the experience. I definitely recommend Shenandoah Valley KOA!

There is lots to do here. Check their web site. Note that the restrooms and the shower house are not centrally located. We found wifi connection sometimes strong and sometimes weak. Cell service (Verizon) was mostly weak. But this was a nice overnight with level pull-thru sites. We walked along the riverfront to the very pretty falls. Our favorite part, though, was the dozens of tame rabbits that roam the campground in the open areas! How cute!

This campground has pull thru sites, w full hook ups and no frills tent sites. A heated pool and hot tubs, and priced accordingly. Our reservation was in order and staff friendly and helpful. The roads and sites are packed gravel. Plenty of trees. Hardly any privacy between sites, they are close together and camp roads are narrow one ways. The laundry room was dated. Just a few miles from the interstate, no road noise. The pet rabbits are cute, but were a major distraction to our dog. We arrived on a Monday, late in September and hardly any other campers, Friday almost all sites taken. The store, pool, and pavilion are up the hill from the sites, a plus or minus depending on your preference. See web site for all activities. We stayed here mostly because it was along our travel route and had some things our prior stops did not. We have just started full timing, so I'm just stating my observations.

Just a short drive through a little town that has gas stations and grocery store and you are in an awesome little area. We were traveling through so we only stayed one night, but all the kids commented that they would loved to have stayed longer. We are in a 30’ TT, but saw several class A’s. The roads are a bit curvy and narrow, however a little time and you won’t have an issue. There is a river that runs around the park and tall trees everywhere. It’s a private campground, so sites are a little on the tight side, but not the closest I’ve seen. All areas are packed gravel or dirt, and seemed well taken care of. Several trash cans around. Full hook ups, W/E and tent sites offered. Nice large pool, 2 big playgrounds, Washer and dryer ($1.75. $.25) and 5 showers. Didn’t use showers, they looked clean, just a bit dated. There is a stocked fishing pond, tube rentals to float the river, {that ends at a waterfall} golf cart rentals, cornhole boards and a little cafe/restaurant. There are lots of squirrels, Lightning bugs and even several “wild” tame rabbits. It almost feels like a state park. If we’re ever in the area again, I’ll make it a point to stay here for a little longer.

Pros; Nice playgrounds, large pool. There is a stocked pond and a wonderful river with a waterfall. They have tubes you can float down the river on! Looked like a lot of fun. There is a nicely stocked store. The park is great for family fun.

Cons; Not really big rig friendly. We have a 35 foot class A. After pulling away from the office you have to turn right on a narrow lane. The shoulder is washed out leaving a pretty good drop off on the right side. The lane is a little washed out as well. We made it fine but not sure about a rig bigger than ours. You have so drive quite a way on narrow roads to get to your sight. Many trees and branches to avoid. Ours was a pull through. Very narrow. Really not enough room for a fire pit. Just a picnic table and your awning.

Now for internet, there is barley any. Patchy phone service as well.

Bathrooms are far from most sites and the laundry room was small only 4 washers and two were out of order. For the price of this place it should have more updates. Not on our go back list.

We stopped for a few days on our way down to Myrtle Beach. When we weigh pro’s and con’s, we would definitely stay again.

There are many standard fare activities for the kids, including a small, but stocked pond, mini golf (course was relatively basic, but in good shape), horseshoe pits and a nice sized playground and pool (both of these were closed due to COVID).

But what makes the campground more unique is the river tubing. Located in the center of a u-turn spot of the river, campers can enter at one end of the campground and tube to the other end (25-45 minutes depending on speed of the river.

One other difference is the large rabbits that roam the campground. Our youngest really enjoyed following them around and feeding them.

We stayed during the week and the campground was only about 20% to capacity. Sites weren’t overly large and I don’t know what it looks like at capacity.

The most challenging issue with the campground is the available WiFi and weak cell service. We are Verizon phone users and my truck’s WiFi is from AT&T. We had very weak signals from both and couldn’t get in the WiFi at all. If you need WiFi, be sure to tell them when making a reservation. They said the sites closest to the store get some reception.

One other challenge is the website itself. Very outdated and challenging to navigate. They could definitely upgrade it.

Our family had a great time, even with connectivity challenges.

We very much enjoyed our weekend here as a family. Sites seem very close together but everyone was very considerate of each other’s space. The two playgrounds could use some TLC but our kids didn’t mind one bit and very much enjoyed them. Loved all the extras they had (food, music, general store, restaurant)... and of course the bunnies. We got to go to the pool, it was very full but we didn’t mind at all again everyone was very considerate. Great bathroom facilities and check in process. Not really any hiking trails near the grounds but we still really enjoyed our stay!

Very nice campground and super clean! Heated pool with hot tubs and a “real” lazy river for tubing that ends at a beautiful waterfall!
This campground is spotless with lots of people working. Golf cart rentals, nice wooded trail for dog walking and tube put in. Even though it was a little too chilly for us to tube, it was a nice place. We really enjoyed it.

This is a great family campground in the Shenandoah Valley. Pool, playgrounds, pavilion, camp store, snack bar, clean bath houses, tubing river and lots of tame rabbits…

If you have a prey driven dog be advised… lots of rabbits… cell service is marginal at the top end and non existent in the bottom end of the campground.

Overall a nice campground but we were disappointed at no cable and very poor Verizon service. After leaving, we discovered we left our surge protector, a $200 item. I called and left a message, hoping they would send it to us but no one bothered to call me back. We would have paid the cost.
