I only went a mile past the y. There are several designated parking spots that are super easy to negotiate. The road had some washboard and was hard packed sand. There were some ruts left over from some past rain. I seemed to be all alone on a Friday night. Maybe the ohv's were off in the distance, but they always seem to quit by full dark. Despite the signs encouraging people to not leave garbage and garbage cans provided, previous visitors had been lass than careful. At the entrance there was a cabana where many bags of garbage had been left., as if everyone who had visited for the last six months deemed the cabana to be a landfill and could not read the no littering signs. It stunk. I doubt that they were members of the campendium community, because this was the first place I have seen like this. I pledge to be diligent about Leavei no trace. In the parking area I chose, there were bullet holes in the no littering signs and the provided garbage can was overflowing with beer cans. The idea of drunk people with guns unsettled me, but it was quiet all night and I slept well.

Going in the road was rough with wash board and occassioal water dips. Going out I met the road grader. It was awesome. Road is much better. Rpod and I went 22 mph when we usually do 12. The road continues passed the shooting area which is most undesirable-- Garbage everywhere, just like the last shooting area. Maybe there is a link between the two, but in proceeding to the coordinates for camping all of the garbage disappeared and the exceptional beauty of a little higher elevation created a greater diversity in plant life. It is a garden. Yeah the shooting is constant, but far enough away to not be obnoxious. There was some ohv traffic, but not overwhelming. Public lands are for everyone.

Awesome. Compared to the north Pacific the Water is warm and calm.

This place is easy to find, it has covered picnic table, maintained garbage cans and a public restroom. Shower is closed. Posted rules specifiy 14 day stay limit. This is a hard sandy gravel extra wide shoulder of the road that is 15 feet from the beach. It is very nice. I felt very comfortable.

I missed the rest areas as I entered Blanding because the turn came up too fast and was not well marked. Because of the impending snowfall, and the dirt road leading into the rest area, I opted to rent. On the way into monticello I checked out the very nice national forest Campground. It was nice and empty, but was too cold and windy. I went on to the Old west rv park, second rv park on the right. It was just a small little place with cabins, back in sites or pull through. Because I am set up for dry camping and winterized, Jim (owner) charged me only 20, because I did not need to hook up. I was the only one there, so he set me up next to the heated bathrooms. The shower was hot and delicious. The townspeople were nice. I wanted to go to canyonlands national park., but 5 miles out of town the visibility dropped under a quarter mile. Deciding that there was a difference between want and should, I turned around and hung out with my rpod while it snowed and snowed. I don't regret the trip because of the scenery through the Navajo reservation. I took the long way at 15 mph below the speed limit. I drove for more than three hours reminding myself to breathe. I recommend this route to any and all.

Gotta traveling worker job, so don't know night rate. Monthly $351. $0.15/ kW. Propane fill is concierge style. This is a beautiful park with 100 channels of free cable, very good wifi, nice equipment and fair-sized lots with picnic tables. Strict rules about appearance and worth following. Very quiet and peaceful for someone who works all the time. Apparently there are other long term residents, but you cannot tell. Family Dollar, Dollar General, Food Lion and laundry are within two miles. Management bends over backwards to assist you. I feel fortunate to be here.

As a workamper. I was charged $275 per month more per month that the seasonal people. I reserved the spot for two months, but was assured that I would only owe the balance of the first month's rent after a $200 deposit of $575. When I checked in they attempted to remove $1400 from my bank account. Fortunately my card was declined, but before I could figure out why they snatched the card reader back and entered the proper amount. My bank notified me the next day. This park has a very high water table and some of the permanent rv's are constantly in standing water. In the morning if the wind is just right, there is a distinct odor of manure. It is a very big park and not beautiful, but they do cut the grass. While I was at work someone used a weedeater around my spot and put a hole in my gray water hose. The threads on the sewer ground connection were stripped and the water faucet dripped. For the locals this is a family-oriented park with a pool, showers, camp store and kidder train ride. I did not enjoy my stay because I felt their very first act was that of an unscrupulous vendor.

Like all rv parks all the spaces are narrow. It was expected, and most people lived there and worked a local job. It was in a nicer areavof Houston, so I felt good about that. I didn't really notice road noise and night hours were quiet. After so much seclusion It took me awhile to be used to city life , but I felt safe there. The showers were clean. There was a mix of old rv s all the way up to a brand new Tiffany motor home. The people were nice. Nothing seemed shady, but I was only there for a minute. The place is run by a little old lady, but she has plenty of help. No internet on the park wi fi.
