Our first time here and we had a good time. Arrived at site and no 50 amp plug in the box. Before I was fully leveled, they had an electrician on site with 50 amp plug installed correctly. Crisis averted. Next morning the electric was out for maintenance from 9 hours! Had to run generator. After that all went well. Good view of the ocean and easy access to beach. Well worth the price paid. We will be back.

This park is a fantastic spot for a quiet stay. We spent 2 nights on our way south. The park is far enough away from I 35 to be quiet yet. It is close enough to be just a few minutes to get back on the interstate. Our site was level and the park is clearly well taken care of. Additionally, the site was extremely long with plenty of room for our big rig that was towing. Owners live on site and they are super friendly and helpful. We will absolutely keep this park on our list of excellent parks.

To be fair this was our very first trip in our new RV. Being totally new at this, Hidden Valley was a good first stop. We were greeted on arrival and directed to our reserved sight. Very friendly staff, good food at the restaurant and a very laid back feel to the place. Even being located near a busy road was not a problem. It was fairly quiet. For the most part, the sights are gravel or dirt with some shade. Easy pull through spots are available with 50 amp full hook-ups. They have done some cool landscaping with walking bridges, fish ponds and fountains. It seemed like a good camp store with a fairly good selection of essential items. We did not take advantage of the showers or restrooms. We were busy getting used to the RV and did not have much time to explore. We enjoyed our stay.

We arrived after closing and our site info was on the door. Site was an easy gravel level pull through with simple hook up. 68 channels on the free cable with a few channels even in HD. Nice clean rest rooms, shower and laundry. Really nice group patio area with grills, chairs and fountain. We liked our stay and will probably come back. Nice campground.

We liked this campground for many reasons. It was quiet and had friendly staff. Nice little playground for the grandkids with mini putt though we did not play. Really nice open grass area behind the site. Views of the Kishwaukee river were nice. There was lots of rain and mosquitos though. Sites have the usual gravel base that were just barely big enough for our rig. Some sites had some mud though no one got stuck. Some sites are clear enough to get satellite tv. Ours had too many trees. Cell was a little spotty and data was “extended”. The campground did have free wifi though it was the usual “campground” speed. Guests that visit are required to pay $2.00 per person to visit. Full hookup was nice though no cable. Air TV did work well. We will visit again.

I just wanted to say we just got back from Picacho Peak State Park and had to leave this very positive note. We had a WONDERFUL time. They do take big rigs as ours is 40' and we saw others bigger with tow vehicles as well. The staff was excellent, professional and friendly. They were very helpful too. I stopped at the ranger station on the way out of the park for a bike ride to pick up a pass so I could get back into the park without paying the bike entry extra fee. The ranger said "you really don't need one (he remembered me by name) we remember that you are in site A-1." To be recognized and treated in such a way, made me feel valued. The park - guest center, shower house, campsites as well as the park in general are a real jewel for AZ and all who get a chance to visit. I can't remember a state park that had shower facilities that were this nice. We are so lucky to have a state park such as this. We will be visiting again in Dec. and have already made our reservations.

Though it is close to Interstate 10, it is really very quiet. Yes there is a little noise from cars and trains, but it did not disturb us in any way. Many sites are flat though some are not as much. They do have pull thru sites but most are back in. All sites have 20/30/50 electric and there is a dump station on the way out. The C loop is not always open (I think it depends on the season).

This is a jewel. Or 40’ RV fits. Drove right in and backed into an empty site. There is self registration, fairly level gravel sites w/picnic table and fire pit. New shower house. We hooked our 50 amp right up with no problems. No water hookup or sewer. Drinking water is close and one sewer dump on sight. This is a really nice option.

These folks get it right! We have stayed here now 3 times and they just keep getting better and better. They are constantly upgrading their already excellent facilities. Real grass dog park, pet memorial, propane fill, pet wash, car & dune buggy wash, amazing shower house, year round heated pool, laundry, ranch house with activities, games, big tv, beautiful outdoor lounge with fire feature, outdoor game area for kiddos young as well as grown, full hookups that are in perfect condition, cable channels and even though it is close to the highway, it is pretty quiet. Office staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. These folks care about their guests both long-term as well as overnight guests too. They even participate in the free nights for service members.
