We only stayed 1 night at Ruby’s but wouldn’t have minded another one or two. It’s huge and bustling, but the more wooded full hookup sites near the front and by the tent areas are shady and some offer a little privacy. Had nice piney smell and friendly vibe among campers. Can bike or take free shuttle into Bruce canyon. Sides were level and clean. I would avoid the many sites at the back, which looked like folks tailgating at a sporting event parking lot.

Beautiful scenery and great hiking. Pioneer RV Park was up the hill in a shaded area but still had sites that were way too close for our liking. The RV spots near the entrance were way worse (basically a parking lot). Camp hosts were very nice; other guests at the 9 sites at Pioneer mostly long term stays and also nice. A great park and great hikes just 3 min walk from campsite. To find a beautiful pine forest up a mountain in the middle of the desert is a gem.

We loved site 22, a multi-use site with no hookups against the petrified sand dunes. We had our own little oasis behind our RV when backed in. The hiking, biking, and general ambiance here are amazing. The hookup sites are a bit packed in but sites 20-22 and 16a and b are to die for (if you don’t mind no hookups). The only downside for us were some noisy neighbors at the group site across the way.
