The upper campground has some spectacular views. There are only 5 sites in the upper campground, three of which have the views, but we were the only ones in the place on a Monday night in May.
We drove through the lower campground, and they were nice, wooded sites. The sites offer 30 and 20 amp service and a single water source at each campground, along with a clean but older shower house at each campground.
Do not consider this campground if longer than 25 feet. The switchbacks are extreme.

The fairgrounds are well maintained, and as convenient to the turnpike as could be. However, the whole place is very poorly marked. We drove past the first time, looking for a camping sign, but then chose an entrance at random as we made our 2nd pass. We saw a very small sign giving instructions about camping, and found a box with envelopes. They directed us to deposit the payment in the caretakers building, but there was no sign identifying the building. We came across a building that had a slot in the door marked Drop box, and put our payment there. The payment envelope had been sealed when we got it, so we couldn’t re-seal it. Then we saw information that only one bathroom was open, at the other end of the property. Again, no signs, but we eventually found it. We chose a campsite near it, as we had a tiny teardrop with no bath. The site we chose then had no electricity.

The staff was extremely accommodating on the phone, helping select a site near the bathroom since we have none in our camper. The baths were clean, though they missed 5 stars because the ran out of toilet paper and soap. They were very convenient to both I-70 and I-77, though that caused quite a bit of road noise. They seemed to have very WiFi.

As others have said, this campsite is located in a beautiful spot. Our site backed to the river. Our neighbor brought kayaks and a fishing boat, and could shove off directly from his site. Very accommodating owners. $5 bought a huge pile of firewood, delivered directly to your site. Others have mentioned the private bathrooms/showers, but we were actually assigned a room all to ourselves. This is an excellent place to stay. Our only quibble is that they have very bright lights throughout the campground that stayed on all night. It’s hard to enjoy the stars with all of those lights. Some road noise, and some distant train noise.

Beautiful park. Well-marked spaces. Paved pads made for almost level pull-in from the start. Bathrooms were excellent with individual shower/toilet rooms that were well lit. Heat or at least hot water would have been nice as it was quite cold.
We walked down a trail and found ourselves at the lake. As we drank in the landscape, a big bird landed about 20 feet from us in a tree. As it wheeled around and back into the air, we realized it was a bald eagle. Pretty hard to top that anywhere else.
The 4 rating for noise was due to the heavy road noise outside the park.
We will make this a regular first night spot on all our east-bound trips.

As others have said, a cute little park, and very welcome as an overnight stop.
The important thing we discovered was that the online reservation system wouldn’t accept same-night reservations, so be sure to arrive before the clerk leaves around 4:30 or 5.
We found the bathrooms were not supplied with soap or toilet paper, and the shower rooms were very rough with peeling paint on rough concrete.
We found the morning school bells and announcements charming. Excellent WiFi.

This park is well laid out, with plenty of space between sites. Very nice showers. Free WiFi that allowed basic emailing, etc.

Our camping preference is state parks, and this is more of a “line of RVs on a lawn” experience, but the state parks were full in a Friday night. Having said that, you will not find a better run or cleaner campground.

This seems like a nice enough campground if you are looking for someplace convenient to River Falls, but we needed to leave before setting up because the bathrooms are down the row of campsites and across a parking lot. Our camper has no bath, and we always choose sites near a bathroom for those midnight walks.

This is a lovely little campground for primitive camping. Look for signs to the Pine Campground. (The Campendium coordinates take you about a mile north. The Oak Campground is for groups.) All of the sites are shaded, most under a beautiful pine canopy, but there is no visual barrier between them. A couple sites are tucked into the foliage.
The campground is not big-rig friendly. Class B, small Class C and trailers under about 22’ would fit. A couple of the sites are pull-through.
Rates are $8/night, but free for veterans and seniors (over 62). There was only one other camper on a Thursday in late September, but reservations are recommended on the weekends.
I wanted to give 5 stars, but the pit toilet was pretty gross.
