Nice clean, well maintained campground. 6 back in sites large enough for any RV, plus 4 tent sites. Picnic tables and fire rings.
Little to no shade. This time of year, nice until about noon, then time to get in the tow and go for a ride. Cools off quickly by about 6 pm.

Campground well maintained and set up. Sure 12 offers good privacy due to large bushes on both sides. Asphalt parking pad, fire pit, table, shade structure. COVID restrictions in effect: open to NM residents ONLY, online reservations required (adds $4 per day reservation fee).

Spent 2 days plugged in between weeks in primitive sites. Great laundry room (8 machines) and shower house (large enough for leg shaving). Sites are large and level but have lots of weeds. Strong wifi signal (but zero cell coverage).
Owners are very friendly and helpful. Elk bugling is a little noisy at night.
Surrounding area has great forest roads for exploring. Don't miss road to Eagle Peak Look out - most beautiful place I've seen in New Mexico.

Stayed for a month. Paid $375 plus $41 for metered electric. Clean, comfortable, friendly (in a COVID safe way). Filled up on weekends but then quiet during mid week. Site nice and level and weed free, Nice dog runs (2).
Got a day use pass to the state parks so, most days, went to the lake for at least awhile. Easy day trips to Caballo Lake, Cholride/Winston, Very Large Array, Engle/Spaceport America, Monticello/Springtime Campground. Lots of geocaching opportunities in the area.
Lots of food and shopping in nearby Truth or Consequences. Recommend A&B Drive In for burgers and El Faro for breakfast burritos.

Most sites right on the water. Large sites and good separation. Level concrete parking pad but steep driveway.
The road into the park is between mile markers 15 and 16.

Understanding the need to minimize impact and keep infrastructure tight but 3 in each parking slot is crazy. 2 would allow each to face their own way. To make matters worse, left and right have to be reserved so people who come in without reservations set up in middle (literally 17” from our slide to theirs) while the reservable left site was empty.
No hosts, no toilet paper, no garbage pickup.

Sites are really close together and no one seems to be maintaining the area (maybe because we were there in mid October). Roads in and around the park are in bad shape but passable if you slow down.

Only 1.5 miles in from Hwy 63 on well paved road. In campground, can trout fish, wade in river/spring, or just walk around. Quiet when we were there but it was a Sunday night.
Space 4 is the electric pull through. There is one more in the no electricity area.
To avoid 2 dips in the road (dry water crossings) we turned around at #4 to skip the loop drive
At night we could here jake brakes from the highway

Moved here to get some shade after staying at the Cosmic Campground. Sites are large, level, spaced far apart, and well shaded by large ponderosa pines. The nearby Apache Creek store is well stocked (ice cream, general groceries, supplies) but no gasoline.

All the sites in the campground have been recently redone. Pads leveled and expanded, new fire rings, vault bathrooms all in great shape. Looking good! Easy access. Several sites would accommodate a 40 footer with tow attached.
Pinon pines still had some nuts on them so we were able to gather a great snack.
