I stopped here on a road trip as I was passing through Rolla and was very happy with this site. Plenty of space at each campsite and the sites felt spaced out. Only 2 other people were there when I went. This first 8 campsites have electric hookups and cost a little more if you want that. I would definitely stay again.

We are seniors with the National Park pass so it was half price for us. The camp hosts are wonderful. So friendly and helpful. We have the one pull through site that has electric. Seven sites have electricity. All sites are very well maintained with picnic table and fire pit. Cement pads and sites are shaded. There is a creek nearby that our dog loved. We believe there are trout in it. Extremely peaceful here. Will come back again.

We did not use the electricity available sites. We used our Eagle pass to get half price. The sites with electricity were $15 and no electricity were $8, unless you have the pass.
We stayed from 9/13-14/2021. It was peaceful with reasonable hiking trails available. We only took a walk since this was a brief overnight stay as opposed to a weekend venture. Five stars.

Only 1.5 miles in from Hwy 63 on well paved road. In campground, can trout fish, wade in river/spring, or just walk around. Quiet when we were there but it was a Sunday night.
Space 4 is the electric pull through. There is one more in the no electricity area.
To avoid 2 dips in the road (dry water crossings) we turned around at #4 to skip the loop drive
At night we could here jake brakes from the highway

Tucked in the woods...Little Piney River access...and Lane Spring...so very relaxing stay.
Vault toilets(clean), electric at several sites.
Water at spigot throughout the park..no dump..
Large spacious lots and paved pads that were fairly level all with fire rings ..picnic table..
Several primitive sites with the same as above.
Easy access in..2 low water crossings in the camping area but unless you are in a large rv and towing a vehicle there shouldn't be a problem
Be prepared for ticks...just check yourself and your pets
The camp host was wonderful..
First come first serve all sites..

I stayed the night here in late April, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The campground is in the middle of a forest with a large creek running around it. It was springtime and everything was so green, there were wildflowers popping up all over the place. The sound of the creek running right behind my camp site felt so soothing. I wish I could have stayed a few more nights; the place was a little bit of magic.
The campground: The road that loops through the campground is paved, and for most (if not all) campsites you park right at your site. My campsite included a large firepit with a grate that you could grill on, a picnic table, and a paved parking space to pull-in. Even though the place was over half full, it felt very quiet. I stayed towards the back of the loop, and the creek ran just below my site. There were clean pit toilets and a trash receptacle across the road from my site. The only downside: there are places where the creek runs over the road a little, so that might cause issues if there's heavy rain in the forecast.
The area: About a thirty minute drive from Rolla, where there are plenty of places to get food or supplies. I didn't have a lot of time to explore Lane Springs Recreation Area, but it looked nice.
Booking: I drove up to the sign at the front of the campground and put my payment in an envelope. I'm not sure if there are other options to book ahead of time.
Cell Service: Verizon worked fine.

Sites and Campground are Nice. The Road Noise Is Rather Loud So Be Aware Of That. in the group campsite they were partying pretty hard but at least the music selection wasn’t bad and they dis quiet down around 10:00.

We love state parks and recreational areas, so we planned to stay at Lane Spring Recreation Area in our camper. After driving twice through the loop of 18 sites, we found a site that would work, but we needed to fill our water tank first. All the park water was turned off. It's 10/20/23. The website said open through October. Since we planned to have access to drinking water, we passed on staying. There was no camphost, and the vault toilets were out of hand sanitizer. I assume park maintenance is sporadic during the fall.
