There are two campgrounds here. Both are dry, as the area is undergoing a drought. You CAN get drinking water, but the bathrooms are closed and port-a-johns are in place. The lower campground is their "developed" campground, with paved pads. It's nice, but kind of compact, and with no views. There is also no AT&T cell service in the lower campground.
The upper campground, Washburn, is their "undeveloped" campground. The pads are gravel, and the bathrooms are (nice) pit toilets. The sites are very large, and many have great views of either the surrounding hills, or the ocean. There are quite a few trails the area. We were here in January, and did not experience ticks. It had been quite rainy, so it was a bit soggy in places. This campground is clean and appears to be well run. We'd stay here again. It's worth driving up to see the elephant seal rookery.

We were dismayed to find that many of our favorite backcountry camping spots had been washed away by floods. Not stoked about campgrounds that have the ambience of a WalMart parking lot, we came to the Pads. It was quiet, never more than two others here. Coyotes serenaded us at night. No services, no shade but plenty of privacy. We will return.

Point Sublime is, well, sublime! Pick up your permit from the ranger station on the North Rim. There are two (2) campsites at the Point. Each has room for two vehicles. The road to get there is a quite long and twisty dirt road. When we were there there were a few sections of deep sand. You can get most any sort of car back there, but you should have some experience driving off road. It's not a place you want to get stuck. Keep your eyes peeled for bison, even in the woods. We came across one blocking the road! Near the campsite at the point, you will have to drive across a fairly exposed ridge that is only slightly wider than your vehicle, with nothing but air on either side. There are a few places to turn around, and plan on spending a couple of hours getting from the pavement to the campsite. Amazingly, there is a bathroom at the campsite. No trash, no water. Just amazing, incredible, stunning views.

We saw the posting here and stayed here instead of continuing to Ridgeway. It's meant for an overnight, and the sign explicitly limits campers to one night out of 14 (I think). A wildlife officer said this is occaisionally abused, but not often. The trailhead is popular, and walkers, runners, cyclists and fisherman use the same parking lot. It's clean, and you can walk to a brewpub and a laundromat. What else can one need?
Check out the trail, it's nice, and parallels the river for a few miles.

We came out in May, the first week the Park was open for the season. The drive out to Fire Points is on an easy dirt road. However there were any number of trees down, and we had to winch a few out of the way, and drive around a couple more trees. The last 1/2 is tight, as the road weaves tightly through several trees. Our trucks (25 feet long and 8 feet wide) fit through, but it took some delicate driving to do so. The view is well worth the long-ish drive. We greatly enjoyed staying here. Note there are NO facilities of any kind, other than the incredible view. Next time we come here, we plan on staying far longer.

Between Christmas and New Years we needed a place to hang out, this place filled the bill. It was mostly empty, and very quiet. No services, other than pit toilets. Enough cell service to stay in touch. Some hiking, although it appears to be a popular climbing place.
We really liked this place.

Our plans changed and instead of heading to Utah, we needed to stick around the Front Range so I could catch a flight to California early this week. The idea of duking it out for a campsite on the Front Range was unappealing, but at the last minute I remembered the Camp Dick campground. I've ridden my bike past the campground hundreds of times, but had never stayed there. There is an upper and lower campground, we drove past the lower and stayed almost at the end of the upper campground. Much to my surprise, we had 3 bars of Verizon during the day and 4 at night. I was able to get some work done, which was nice. The campsites are large, and very clean. The camp hosts have done a great job of keeping this place clean and well maintened. They don't go to great lengths to monitor problems. We had one family with a dog that barked 24/7. The dog was tied to a picnic table and left for almost 3 days and barked at everything that moved.
There are a couple of great hiking trails nearby, and the fishing in the St. Vrain is good. We will be back.

We stayed here for 4 days while exploring Bandelier. The sites are clean and spacious. Many sites aren’t 100% level, but they are paved. Water was available at several spigots around the campground. Sites have no hookups. The bathrooms are clean and have flush toilets and power. There is a shuttle that takes you to the visitor center (less than 10 minutes away) that arrives nearby every 30 minutes. Cell service is slow (at least Verizon). The camp hosts are really nice and very helpful. We were here in September and the campground was never more than 25% full. It’s small, a big rig would struggle to fit. There are only a few pull-thru sites.

What a surprise! Memorial Day weekend and there were only three other cars here. Had a great hike to one of the ruins (a guide is necessary). Clean and great views!

We've stayed here several times, until this year, we'd be the only people in the campground. The camp host was super nice and happy to have someone in camp. We recently arrived to find the campground mostly full. We grabbed one of the last remaining spots and watched people circle the small loop until well into the evening. People on ATVs who were staying at the nearby corral did circles around camp constantly.
The pit toilets were dirty, poorly maintained and chronically out of toilet paper.
The camp host, who appeared to be 15, was reluctant to enforce any sort of decorum, so some sites had trash and food scattered all over. People were tearing branches off of live trees to get firewood, despite firewood being available for $6.
When 7 cars full of people arrived to take one site, and they were so intoxicated as to be unable to assemble a tent, we left. I doubt we'll be back soon.
