I had never before spent a night at a rest area. This place is not your typical rest area.
First off, no trucks are allowed. Secondly, there are at least three water spigots and a dump station (there is a sign stating the water and dump are closed in winter). Finally, there are two camping areas here and one is absolutely enormous. I chose the enormous area which is just off of the "exit" road. Follow the signs to "exit" and you will see the "overnight camping area" sign. This area is a large gravel (and fairly level) parking area with several picnic tables lining one side. I arrived at about 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon and was the first rig and parked in the far northwest corner as far away from the road as possible. Four others joined me during the afternoon. The other area had several rigs by morning as well.
While it is right next to the road and there is significant road noise until around 10PM or so, it was very dark and I got in a good night's sleep.
The only cons I could see here were the road noise, the cleanliness of the bathroom left much to be desired and all of the trash cans (there are many) in the camping area were all overflowing with trash bags also piled alongside of them. Fortunately, there was no loose trash blowing around.
If passing through this area, I would most definitely stay for an overnight.

After spending over 10 days in the Smokies and on the Blue Ridge Parkway with no hook ups, I decided it was time to plug in for a day. This park easily fit that bill.
Only a mile of so off the Parkway, the location was just what I was looking for. Easy enough check in, staff was helpful and pleasant. Typical RV Park sites here - concrete and level with full hook ups which can accommodate any sized rig. Mostly seasonal retired folks here. Nice activity building with clean bathrooms and showers. Didn't use the laundry room. Good Verizon signal here and the wi-fi worked very well.

In addition to the small (5 site) RV loop, there are also 13 tent sites available. This campground is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago and is about a 1 hour drive (depending on traffic) to downtown. With very limited options in the Chicago area, this is a decent option for a short stay.
The sites are good sized, level and could accommodate larger rigs. Some are gravel, some are paved and all have the unusual combination of electric and sewer hookups (no water @ each site). There are spigots scattered in the tent area and the office has up to 150 feet of water hose (I was told) which can be used to fill up from the spigot near the bathhouse. There are no spigots in the RV loop. One sketchy feature is that the sites have the sewer and electrical post on different sides of the pad. You will need a good 20 to 25 feet of cord to hook up electric if you back in. Site #1 has both hookups on the proper side. Each site has a table and fire pit. The campground is located on a busy road, so traffic noise is definitely a factor here, especially during weekday morning rush hour..
The facilities are nice and new. The bathhouse has one toilet, one sink and four shower stalls. I suppose this could be an issue if the tent area is full as I could see a line waiting for the sink and/or toilet (there were no tenters here on the 3 weekdays we were there). The campground closes its gate at 10 pm each night. If you need to enter after that (we did) you have to call and let them know you are at the gate and they then let you in. Apparently, someone is on site (not a host, per se) at all hours. We have US Cellular cell service which was available at the campground. No wifi here.

Stayed here for three weekend nights in early May. This place is not for those seeking a camping experience, rather it is a great location for spending some time in Milwaukee.
Basically an asphalt parking lot with a decent amount of space - you won't feel right on top of each other. There are shared hookups (water, electric & sewer). If you can get a spot to back into with your hookups on the drivers side, it should work well. I would recommend getting a spot in the B row, as you will have some grass behind your rig and you will be away from the main road, which can be somewhat noisy.
An easy park to get to, just off of I-94. The staff was helpful, polite and accommodating. The showers are among the best I have encountered at an RV park, though there is only one toilet in the bath house. This place has the best WiFi of any place we have ever camped, bar none. You will definitely be able to save gigs here!
There really is no other place to stay this close in to Milwaukee. We were in town strictly to go to baseball games at Miller Park, and the stadium was a 2 mile walk along the Hank Aaron State Bike and Walking Trail which runs right next to the RV park. Saved us a $15 daily parking fee at the stadium. This also is a great trail to bike on as it runs about 13 miles from downtown out to the west. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area, many in walking distance. Plenty to do and see within an easy drive.

The above rate is for 2 people and includes tax.
Most of the sites in the pull thru area will accommodate any sized rig, though a couple might be too short. Interior roads (all dirt) are somewhat bumpy and tight (especially on the way out) but doable without much trouble. Our site (#12) was long enough -- and level enough -- for us to stay hitched and park the wife's car as well, but the bushes made it somewhat tight. Certainly not a traditional RV "resort" as the place is "rustic" at best. Having said that, once settled in, soaking in the hot spring tubs is really the thing to do, though there are a couple of short desert trails for walking.
Staying in an RV here allows the occupants unlimited use of the public pools (there are some private pools available for an additional hourly fee) for the entire time you are here. There are both clothing required and clothing optional soaking pools and camping areas which are well segregated and clearly defined. The pools are kept at varying temperatures, so all who soak should be able to find one (whether clothed of naked) which suits them temperature-wise.
Very quiet and dark here which made for an enjoyable stay.
The amazing City of the Rocks State Park is just a couple of miles down the road. If staying there, you could come here and soak in one of the private pools for $34 for an hour. At the time we were here (late October, 2021) they were no longer allowing folks to come in for "day use" of the public pools like they used to. Must be a covids thing, I guess.

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend, 2020. Was the only area spot we could find for the weekend. Having said that, I would only recommend this Park for a quick, convenient one night layover if travelling on I-80. To me, that is the only appeal to this facility.
Overall, not a bad park by any means. Appeared to be clean and well-kept. Rest rooms were clean. The restaurant here does indeed have very good hamburgers. They are worth a try. The sites were long and level enough and the utilities worked as they should. There really isn't much of anything to do in this area.
The biggest complaint here is indeed the road noise, especially in the summer, when the prevailing wind is out of the south, as the campground sits just north of Interstate 80 and its all day and all night heavy traffic.
It worked for us in a pinch, but I don't think I would return here.

Stayed here New Years Eve 2019. Parked in the large gravel lot due west of the back of the casino. Had a couple of trucks and a couple of other RV's parked with us. I did see some other rigs and trucks parked in a paved lot at the south end of the casino, but that seemed fairly tight getting around in there to me.
Enjoyed gambling and dinner before retiring to the rig to enjoy a quiet boondocking New Years Eve.
Would definitely stay here again if needed a place on the south side of Phoenix.

Second time here. First time through 3 years ago, the gravel lot on the west side was where RV's stayed in general. That lot is apparently closed now. Stayed in a largely empty lot behind the casino which offered level and mostly quiet parking. Trucks were no issue when I was there.

Just happened to be here on a Friday and Saturday night which was "Christmas in July." Not the best choice for a solo or couple looking for a nice quiet place to kick back. However, since there are not many choices in this area, it serves the purpose.
Reasonably easy to get to this campground once driving thru downtown Chambersburg from the Interstate. Campground has quite a mix of sites spread throughout. Only sites left when I reserved were the wide-open grass field sites with 30 amp and water. This area is OK, but a major issue is walking thru the grass early in the morning, especially if coming back from the showers - your feet will be totally soaked since there is no hard surface to walk on in the grass area. The showers were a major disappointment - small, cave-like 3 x 8 foot rooms with the annoying push-button control. Especially annoying here since each pump on the spray control only gave 15 seconds of water. In addition, on occasion a cold blast of water was mixed in during those 15 seconds. Brrrr. No shower curtain which can put the sitting bench, towel and clothes in line for a good spray of water if you are not careful. For about $50 a night, I would certainly expect better from the shower facility.
Iffy to non existent Verizon coverage and the Wi-Fi certainly leaves much to be desired (though I was assured otherwise) and my site was only a matter of 40 feet or so from one of the antennas.
Evidently a good place for families, as it seems likely to be bustling with activity throughout the season, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights in late July while visiting Little Bighorn. This Park was a pleasant surprise with a smooth check-in process (and, yes, a coupon for an ice cream is part of that process), an Escapees discount, and best of all, a well groomed, long pull through site with a mature tree which shaded the afternoon sun. On top of that, the sites are somewhat terraced, providing a larger-than-normal site for an RV Park and offering a degree of privacy as well.
Very nice facilities here. Bath house was clean, modern and roomy. The park sits atop a hill overlooking the valley and I-90. It is high enough that there was little to no noise from the Interstate. Very quiet and peaceful overall. In addition, they allowed guests to wash their rigs, which is something most RV Parks would frown upon.
Not a whole lot in this area other than the Little Bighorn Battlefield which we really enjoyed and highly reccommend.
Would stay here again as a wayside through eastern Montana
