So the actual trailhead is closed so access to the pit toilet and turn around parking is not accessible. The barricades can be removed to allow for turning around if your rig is too big provided you put them back. Be advised there are fines associated with access so read the signage and proceeds at your own risk.

Coming up to the trailhead reveals at least 3 spots that are fairly large for RVs and some spots for tent camping next to the creek.

There is a large one on the right that is right before the bridge. 20’ further down is parking and a path down to a treed, flat area for tent camping.

Across the bridge is the private horse park, Camp Howe, with a spot large enough for a van or truck camper across the road from its entrance.

50’ up is the trailhead. The road tees off to the left and on that corner is a nice spot that is big enough for at least 30’er if you unhook after.

The road to the left is closed 100’ down.

We had TMobile/Sprint BOOSTED with around 1.2Mbps down and .21 up. Good enough to write and submit the review.

The place is peaceful and quiet. This forest, Gifford Pinchot, is so freakin beautiful. And this area does not disappoint!

Please take a bag of garage when you leave! Leave it better than you found it.

As posted, excellent FREE dump station. 2 lanes and easy access.

Not sure why original reviewer would give poor reveiw based on Google Maps performance...

It's a WalMart parking lot. Nothing super special. We've stayed in a lot of Wal-Marts in the PNW. But this one is the quietest we've ever stayed in!

Park by the Garden Center and make sure you shop in the store (as a thank you). Please do your part to keep it clean and quiet.

First time here and the weather was perfect. Well maintained area. While not allowed, we did camp on the beach as there wasn't anyone there. The upper camp area before pit toilets seemed like a nice place but there arent any defined sites so crowding could be an issue if there's a lot of people. As it stands, we were alone the whole weekend with only a couple folks driving in and back out.

Love this area of WA. Totally peaceful with just the birds singing. Big ole owl lives down there. Heard his hoots and saw him in the tree.

Spotty T-Mobile. Would benefit from a booster.

Sign says No Fires. Not sure if that includes those in a grill or just ground fires. We decided not to have a fire because of that.

Stayed June 22. Perfect weather. 74 , no clouds, light breeze. Go if you can.

Sprint/T-Mobile 2 bars/123db but 89db boosted.

Some garbage/rubbish in sites and burnt garbage in fire rings. Shame. There is a dumpster conveniently right in the middle of area.

Love the woods! And a nice place to spend a weekend. Nothing much more to add to the other reviews.

First visit but wont be my last visit! All sites are paved and pull through. Some low branches here and there but nothing big. Agree that river side would be nice but all were in use when we arrived.

Nice area to stage your camper and go out and explore!

Some road/vehicle noise.

Had boosted Sprint/T-Mobile for a few hours then it disappeared. Could send and receive texts. Better cell a few miles back down the road.

4 stars

Stayed 6/19/20 to 6/21/20. There are basically 5 spots that small trailers (>23') & truck campers can fit into. There is a parking area for day use fishermen and their truck & fishing boat trailer that shouldn't be used for camping. However, we put our tow vehicle out there at night.

Picnic tables and fire rings for each site. Don't expect privacy, electric, or water. There is a port a potty and a building with a toilet. (Probably but didn't use). While it is tight and privacy is in short supply, the end areas afford more in the way of privacy with the spot closest to the bathroom the largest.

The hill is steep(ish). It is grooved so- to-speak to facilitate traction. A guy in a 40' converted Bluebird bus didn't have any issues when I was there.

The lake is peaceful and full of life. Birds galore! Floating in our kayak on that water was just what was needed to disconnect from this crazy time we're going and enjoy but dont tell too many people. Haha

We got Sprint LTE at the top of the hill with my Note 8 but nothing with my Galaxy A50. I had to drive .5 miles to get signal on that phone. (Notes have great antennas)

Fall weather made for a perfect weekend here. Picturesque perfection made better by an empty campground sans 1 family down the way.

Big sites probably dont afford a lot of visual privacy when full but the sizes helps reduce the crowded feel of other NF Campgrounds.

Dont expect cell but if you need it, it is quicker to find it headed to Republic vs Tonasket.
