Currently The road to Upper Teton View is closed. Everyone is camping in the parking area at Lower Teton View. It was very crowded and people were parked anyplace the could find a spot. Not at all what we want when camping. Road is in very poor condition.

Holiday weekend here in Utah, we were looking to escape 99 degree heat at home. Searching for something new, close to home and in the higher/cooler elevations, we decided to head toward Mt. Timpanogos or Timpooneke campgrounds. Timpooneke was full, so back tracked to the more developed Mt Timp campground. Asphalt slabs, tables and fire pits. Best of all flush toilets. Campground sits close to the road on a hairpin curve so you get traffic noise on both sides but not too busy. Close to hiking, lake and Timpanogos Cave National Monument. Also very popular Alpine Scenic Loop cycling climb. Narrow and steep, not recommended for large rigs.

Agree with all the prior reviews with a couple of exceptions. Very high on our list of county campgrounds. Not too many sites have reservoir views but even loop interior sites are well kept and fairly private. This is a very busy campground on holidays and weekends and highly recommend calling the county parks office and making a reservation. They take reservations for loops A&B but C is walkup only. Very lucky to find a county park with hot showers and flush toilets however they are not very clean and some broken items. You will not find another public lands campground of this quality anywhere nearby.

We've been back twice since this review. Once on a quick overnight and once just to use the hot showers. Still tops the list in Eastern Idaho!

(Late April 2016) No shower and no hookups at the beach view sites, but I'd still give Tillicum 5*. This is the one place I reserved during our 2.5week trip. I wanted to see and hear the beach from our site and site 46 was perfect. We were able to turn our small trailer sideways to maximize the view. Rhododendron were lovely. Not all sites have beach view. Close to town, just off Hwy 1. Well maintained park, easy access to the beach and free sunsets!

With no reservation, we managed a lovely lake view campsite with very fragrant cedar trees. Partial and full hookups available. Hot showers and very clean flush toilets. We were only there for one night and it was the first part of May which is too early for the boaters and bathers. I'm sure this is quite busy in the summer. It's a bit of a drive out to the park, but worth it. No cell service.

Early May 2016. If you fly fish, this is an amazing location. Campgrounds open the middle of April. The park is remote and the drive up the canyon is picturesque. The road along the Owyhee River is narrow, windy and steep. Not sure large rigs could make it. There are two campgrounds. We stayed at McCormick and had a beautiful view of the reservoir w/partial hookup. You can camp in Teepees here too. Flush toilets and showers were not as clean as they should have been. The road up to the reservoir is BLM land and there are many places to boondock if you would rather camp along the river. Packed up the next morning and headed down to the river for some fly fishing. FYI, there is a small hot spring soaking area along the river! No cell service.

Huge park with a variety of activities. Perfect for bike riding. Both full and partial hookups. Clean bathrooms and very hot showers. We arrived on a busy Saturday and there we several large and loud groups. By Sunday it was calm and quiet. No trash cans on the camping loops, you have to take all trash to a central recycling center. Beware of swarming mosquitos in early May. Made it impossible to sit or cook outside, it was a miserable two days in the campground. Once you moved away from the lake and swampy areas, very pleasant. Nice group of volunteers helping with firewood ($5.25) and at the Fort museum. Seemed to be many dog owners not following leash rules.

30 minutes from home, 10 degrees cooler and a river breeze. When we luck out and beat the Covid campers and fly fishermen to our favorite site, this is an amazing campground. Loop A overlooks the beautiful Henry's Fork River. Loop B & C are private and wooded. Close to Mesa Falls, Island Park and West Yellowstone. Quite and peaceful. If you are looking for a place to swim/tube, this isn't it. Head north to Buffalo Campground. We were last there 23 September and I'd reserved online. When we arrived, they'd closed all but one toilet and were in the process of winterizing the spigots. There was no notification of this on the website. They were discounting fees by 50%, however I'd paid full price. This and the .5mile walk to the toilet, was a little disappointing.

Wonderful but small, county campground and picnic area only 5 miles off I25. Dry camping and not recommend for large rigs. The road in is narrow and the camping loop would be tight for the big boys. A couple of the sites are right on the creek, we opted for one of the pull-through sites as we didn't want to un-hitch for one night. The park caretakers live on site and do a great job. The cleanest and best decorated pit toilets I've ever seen. Camping area is on one side of the creek and the day-use area on the opposite side. There is a playground, picnic tables, fire pits and creek is swimmable and fishable. There is a short walk/scramble up a hill to put you on top of the rock bridge. This gives you a great view of the red canyon wall and is a beautiful spot for sunset. Cute bunnies all over the place enjoying the lush green grass. Pets are not allowed, although we did see fellow campers who were allowing their pet/show rabbits to graze. So much for rules.
