Awesome campground and very reasonable pricing for FULL service during Covid 19 pandemic AND summer season! Spacious too! We got lost on the way here due to GPS trying to get us into the boating ramp area rather than the RV campground entrance and arrived 9:30pm. Host was extremely nice to let us in and tell us where the empty lots were. We were afraid we might have to camp at a rest stop with 3 young kids. He even said don’t worry about trying to fill out payment in the dark, you can pay in the morning! Thank you for long day journey end with a pleasant and comfortable night!

A Hidden Gem for a County Campground
Most recent stay was 8/04/16 - I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area

Overall this park has nice facilities; 3 loops with paved roads and sites which are very nicely spaced-out and mixed together with grass & juniper bushes. It has flush toilets and spacious showers in every loop. The showers have dated and annoying spray heads but decent water pressure w/hot water and a bench in changing area. All are kept clean. No dump station however, and no hooks or shelves in shower stalls or community sink area – no paper towels for you to clean up the sinks after use.

Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with lots of room between them and all sit on top of relatively flat plateau above the reservoir. some sites have very little shade (the juniper bushes provide spots of low-lying shade for the sitting area), but limited shade for the RV & it can get very hot in summer. Many sites have full hookups (either 30 or 50 amp/water/sewer), plus prices are outstanding. Overnight Camping Fees: $10.00 tent area and dry dock camping (only $18 for FHU!). ($2.00 discount for Idaho State Parks and Recreation Golden Age pass holders) Most sites have no view of the water except for sites 10,12,14

This park is way out there near the Juniper Dam Recreation Area; very quiet, about 20 mi from Idaho Falls where you can shop for groceries and eat at restaurants.

I just stayed one night due to travel plans, but would have stayed longer. This campground is very nicely kept, grassy, and right on the Ririe Reservoir, however only two sites had water views (A-10 and A-14, both of which are dry camping sites). It is a bargain at $18 for FHU ($16 with senior pass). It is self-register, and the dumpsters are near the pay station. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and internet signal and OTA TV were both good, as was the electric and water pressure. Water tested soft as well. A couple of things about Loop C - it is a new loop, and the sites are extremely long, nicely paved pull throughs however quite slanted. It took me 3 different sites to find one that I could get level front to back. Also, they keep the lovely grass green by having the sprinklers go off around 9AM. They are set in such a way that they criss cross in front of your site, soaking anything you might have out front as well as the picnic table and firepit. Those two things might explain why there was only one other rig there besides me in that loop. Having said that, if I couldn't score one of the two water sites, I wouldn't hesitate to try that loop again and just make sure stuff was in, and any firewood was covered, while the sprinklers were on.

I loved this park. The town of Idaho Falls is 20 miles away. The town if Ririe is about 3 with nothing much to speak of nearby so this is not a place to come for a bunch of activity. However, it was so peaceful and quiet here.

The campground is very well maintained. All but three sites are full hookup for the low, low price of $18.00 a night! Loops A and B are about half and half pull-through and back-in. Loop C is all pull through and is the newest section. It was also not as beautifully green as A and B. The grass was such a bonus here that I'm completely forgiving the fact that the sprinklers went off at 1am and blasted the Airstream. It was worth it to be able to wash the dogs and have them roll around in the grass afterwards instead of a gravel dirt pit like usual. I don't think the sprinklers are on any sort of schedule so don't leave your windows open!

This looks to be a pretty busy place on the weekends. We were there during the week in August and among probably 10 other campers in the 60 site campground. There were 'reserved' signs hung up on many of the campsites for the next weekend. It is possible to make reservations with the camp hosts by calling (208) 538-5126 for an extra $2 a night.

Within the campground is a boat launch on one side and a mini-marina on the other with a floating dock for swimming. No recycling (the camp hosts said they tried it but everyone threw their beer cans in the regular dumpster anyways, boo). Watch carefully for the entrance to the park, the sign is mostly hidden by a tree.

Plenty of Verizon 4G for work or play and all the major channels available with our regular antenna.

There's really not much out here except for this campground, but it's a lovely, peaceful, green spot to spend a few nights. Mix of pull-through and back-in sites, all paved with good separation and pleasant "sitting area" containing concrete picnic table and fire-pit. A few primitive sites, but most have full hookups (water/electric/sewer) either 30Amp or 50Amp. a few sites are *very* unlevel (especially in loop A) and not suited for bigger rigs, but most are decent and can fit any size.

What's wonderful is the price ($18 for full hookups!) and GREEN here. After driving through what is mostly desert in this part of Idaho you'll get lots of grass and juniper trees. Definitely recommend this as a stop for a few days. Idaho Falls is ~20 miles away.

Solid Verizon signal (only 3 bars, but it never wavered), but very iffy/marginal ATT (it comes and goes)

We were in Idaho Falls to pick up our Zamp 160V portable solar panels and have a special bracket installed on our Airstream by the very capable people at Biss RV. We found this county park on Campendium and while there are no reservations available after Labor Day, had no trouble finding a spot. We picked the older loop, A, because the view of the reservoir is spectacular here and the cypress trees are mature and offer privacy along with the fresh and pungent scent of their leaves. We selected water and electric only (this site did not have sewer) though all the others in this campground do have full hook-ups. The facilities in B and C loop are newer and feature private showers/bathrooms so we accessed them. We loved the quiet and the dark night which allowed us great views of the night sky. Definitely would return here.

Agree with all the prior reviews with a couple of exceptions. Very high on our list of county campgrounds. Not too many sites have reservoir views but even loop interior sites are well kept and fairly private. This is a very busy campground on holidays and weekends and highly recommend calling the county parks office and making a reservation. They take reservations for loops A&B but C is walkup only. Very lucky to find a county park with hot showers and flush toilets however they are not very clean and some broken items. You will not find another public lands campground of this quality anywhere nearby.

We've been back twice since this review. Once on a quick overnight and once just to use the hot showers. Still tops the list in Eastern Idaho!

This is a beautiful campground about 12 miles from Idaho City. It's lush and the campsites are large. Roads in and out are in great shape and there's plenty of shopping in Idaho City. Cell service is great on Verizon, ATT and T-Mobile. Data speeds are over 10 d/l.

The camp host is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The bathrooms are very clean and the campground in general is spotless.

The lake is pretty and great for boating or kayaking but there's no walkable beach area so it's not a swimming lake. Idaho Falls is a cute town with a really nice greenway walking area along the river. Lots of good restaurants and shops there.

Site accessibility (excellent roads, easy to navigate, level site) - 5
Campground location (Close enough to civilization but far enough to be quiet) - 5
Nearby amenities (Everything 20 min away) - 4
Site Privacy (large sites, good privacy) - 5

Staff (Friendly and the campground is immaculate) - 5
Connectivity (Excellent Verizon, ATT and T-Mobile a couple of OTA channels) - 5

This was probably one of the sweetest deals we have found this year in camping! Large spacious sites, full-hookups, dreamy sunsets and a great location. This is a fabulous location to pause between Jackson and Central Idaho. Just 20 minutes outside of Idaho Falls and 150 miles from Craters of The Moon NM. The property management is fabulous and went out of their way to adjust the sprinklers, as our RV was getting a crazy wash. There is also a camp host who was selling firewood. Mid week the park was quite empty, it does fill up on the weekends. We loved the location of our site with the trees. Beautiful location with full-hooks for $18...yes please!
