Very nice 4 site camping area. Lots of shade and large grassy area to exercise the dog. FHU, new picnic table and fire ring. We stayed in site 4 which had the water and electric posts on the trailer entryway side, which was no big deal. Very clean and well maintained.

Actually we stayed at Hurricane North and almost had the place to ourselves. Wonderful lake views. Campground host was great! There was zero cell coverage. Bathrooms/Showers were clean, but old.

Stopped on our way to Florida. We loved this park. Very clean and beautiful views. We stayed on a peninsula and had it to ourselves. The restrooms and showers were very nice and clean. We will go back again!! Some traffic noise, but not that bad.

Sites are nice size and plenty of space between sites. The sites are asphalt. We had wood deck, fire pit and picnic table. FREE laundry was a pleasant surprise. Nice playground for the kids. If you aren’t on the side of the loops with the restrooms/showers there is a nice raised walking deck that takes you there. Less than 30 minutes to New Orleans.

Lots of rain and interior sites flooded. Our site was very uneven, but doable. Lots of places to walk the dogs. Set up for lots of day picnicking. We would stay again if passing through the Lake Charles area, but wouldn’t make it a destination. Bathrooms were very nice and free laundry.

Sites were very tight and close together, but they were separated by lots of vegetation. All sites had paths to restrooms, which could use some updating. Laundry and book exchange. Lots of history and trails. We rented a canoe and spent a couple hours on the River. We saw lots of turtles, armadillos and rabbits.

Stayed Dec 27, 2019-Jan 10, 2020. Sites were all pull thru and good size, with easy access to beach. Electric & Water only. 2 very nice bath houses and free laundry. Dogs weren’t allowed on beach, so we had to leave park to run them. Constant mechanical noise from dredging off-shore. Don’t let remoteness reviews worry you, they had nice grocery stores close. I worked remotely and had sufficient Verizon cell phone coverage for hot spot.

Stayed Jan. 14-21, 2020. Bought the Texas State Parks Pass. Had to stay on bayside because they are upgrading beachside. Would love to camp on beachside in the future. Bayside was basically a circle of sites. The bathrooms were new and really nice, but they weren’t close to campsites. They were located in the tent camping area and a good walk from RV camping. A nice place to see the Galveston area.
